Plunger wave making apparatus
10760290 · 2020-09-01 ·

A plunger wave making apparatus for creating a surface wave in a body of water. The waves are generated by a plurality of side by side individual plungers oscillating up and down, placed along different shapes such as a linear straight line, square, polygon, triangle and hexagon shapes. Plunger Wave Makers oscillating at individual different times in a non-sequence manner and oscillating in sequence one plunger at a time in a delayed actuation. The plungers have the ability to produce swells in different directions. The plunger wave making apparatus is made of an internal steel structure with EPS Geo Foam secured to the outside of the steel internal structure with end caps. Ballast Water is placed inside the inner steel structure of the plungers to offset upward buoyancy forces. The wave making plungers are placed on a back wall angled between 30-90 degrees.

Hang time measurements using wearable electronic devices

Wearable electronic devices that are designed to be worn on the head of a user while the user is swimming can determine swimming strokes and swimming performances of the user using motion sensors. Using a sound speaker, the wearable electronic device can play music and provide audio feedback to the swimmer. By comparing the swimming performance of the swimmer wearing the device with previously recorded swimming data, the wearable electronic device can provide audio comparison results to the swimmer while the swimmer is swimming in water. The wearable electronic device can also support similar functions for jumping actions.

Inflatable surfing apparatus and method

A water or other amusement attraction that includes an inflatable portion or material. A cavity of the attraction is located underneath an upper surface, the upper surface configured to support a flow of water and at least one rider thereon. A volume of water is configured to be disposed within the cavity, the upper surface floating upon the volume of water while connected to at least one side wall, floor, and/or nozzle structure. A pump and nozzle assembly, positioned outside of the cavity, communicates with the water within the cavity for flowing a portion of the water over the upper surface. A drainage portion, adjacent to the upper surface, drains the flowing water back into the cavity for recirculation. Support components, such as a plurality of beams or an inflatable grid structure help maintain stability for the attraction.

WAVE POOL AND WAVE GENERATOR FOR BI-DIRECTIONAL AND DYNAMICALLY-SHAPED SURFING WAVES

A wave pool and wave generating mechanism are disclosed. The wave pool includes a bathymetry that includes a dynamically shapeable reef along a length or circumference of a channel that defines the wave pool. The wave generating mechanism includes a foil that has a shape for bi-directionality based on an adjustment of a yaw angle of the foil. The foil can be further controlled to increase or decrease certain surface areas or other angles of interacting with water in the wave pool.

A riding device with a front truck and a rear truck connected by a frame, with a longitudinal roll axis coincident with a virtual line between a front virtual pivot point and a rear virtual pivot point. Each virtual pivot point is located at the intersection of a line projecting upward from the central point of a hanger axle axis and a hanger pivot axis. Virtual pivot points are the points about which the front and rear hanger pivot axis rotate as a result of rider input leaning to the right or left.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WATER CONTROL

Aspects of the present disclosure involve hydraulic systems and methods for altering a flow of a body of water, such as a river, channel, and/or other flowing or uncontained bodies of water. In one aspect, a hydraulic system provides a velocity barrier for the impedance of aquatic organism migration. More particularly, the velocity barrier may be adapted based on the swimming capabilities of one or more aquatic organisms to impede migration. The aquatic organism may be one or more species of fish, such as species sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus). The example implementations shown and described herein reference the restriction of the sea lamprey. However, it will be appreciated that other aquatic organisms could be restricted by the presently disclosed technology, for example, with different hydraulic targets depending on swimming capabilities.

SEQUENCED CHAMBER WAVE GENERATOR CONTROLLER AND METHOD

A wave generating apparatus mobile application controller and method is provided in which a mobile controller actuates a plurality of wave generating chambers in sequence using a delay between the actuation of each chamber to produce a rideable wave in a pool. The mobile application controller allows the user to select the exact type of wave to be produced by the wave generator apparatus by selecting the size, shape, and pattern of the wave. The application also allows the user to use a camera to photograph or record herself or someone else, even while riding a wave.

Apparatus for testing skis or snowboards

The invention relates to a measuring arrangement (1) for testing skis and snowboards (2) or sports equipment with a planar contact surface, the arrangement comprising a sensor device, onto which at least one ski or snowboard (2) or piece of sports equipment can be laid. The sensor device has a sensor surface (3) which is predominantly sub-divided in a longitudinal and transverse direction into a plurality of sensor-surface sections (4), each of said sensor-surface sections (4) having at least one force sensor which outputs the force acting on the sensor-surface section (4) as an electrical signal that is evaluated by a computer unit (5).

Wave generator with wave damping

A wave-generating apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a wave pool with a bottom, wherein the bottom is upwardly-inclined along a length of the wave pool and defines a deep edge and a beach edge. A wave generator is placed adjacent to the deep edge. An open wave-damping trough is placed adjacent to the beach edge and is adapted to retain water. The apparatus is constructed such that when the wave generator is not actuated, the pool retains water defining a static water level, and a portion of the beach edge is above the static water level. When the wave generator is actuated, it creates a wave that propagates across the wave pool from the deep edge to the beach edge, and the wave energy is dampened when the wave encounters the water retained in the trough.
