Systems and methods for generating waves
A wave generating system can include a water channel for creating a flow of water to produce a standing wave. A water return passageway can circulate the water back to the inlet of the water channel. One or more pipes can extend under the water channel for circulating the water. A water storage chamber can be positioned below the water channel. Water can be stored in the space between the one or more pipes, and the storage water can be isolated from the water being circulated in the system. The system can produce a hydraulic circuit with hydraulic continuity so that water can be efficiently circulated through the water channel and water return passageway. The system can be modular.
Safe application distribution and execution in a wireless environment
The present invention provides safe and secure application distribution and execution by providing systems and methods that test an application to ensure that it satisfies predetermined criteria associated with the environment in which it will execute. Furthermore, by using rules and permission lists, application removal, and a modification detection technique, such as digital signatures, the present invention provides mechanisms to safely distribute and execute tested, or untested, applications by determining whether the application has been modified, determining if it has permission to execute in a given wireless device environment, and removing the application should it be desirable to do so.
Wave generating apparatus and method
A wave forming apparatus has a channel for containing a flow of water with an inlet end connected to a water supply, a floor, and spaced side walls, a first bed form or weir at the inlet end of the channel, and a second bed form in the channel downstream of the first bed form. Also disclosed is a wave forming apparatus has a channel for containing a flow of water, the channel having an inlet end connected to a water supply for supplying a flowing stream of water, a floor, and spaced side walls, and at least one oblique foil member adjustably mounted in the floor of the channel. The foils, weirs or bed form, form a standing wave.
Stepping exercise machine
A stepping exercise machine includes a base and a pedal. The base is provided with an undulating slide rail. A top end of the slide rail is defined as a peak. Bottom ends of two sides of the peak are defined as troughs. The two sides of the peak or the bottom ends of the troughs are provided with stop blocks, respectively. An underside of the pedal is pivotally connected with rollers. Two sides of the underside of the pedal are fixedly connected with a pair of stretchable elastic members. The other ends of the pair of stretchable elastic members are fixed to two sides of the base. The rollers support and drive the pedal to reciprocate along the undulating slide rail ups and downs by means of the stretchable elastic members.
Surfing Simulator
An apparatus and method of using the same for simulating surfing skateboarding, snowboarding or the like. The apparatus comprises a platform capable of supporting a user such as a continuous elastic surface such as trampoline or similar. A support is coupled to the platform for holding the platform. The apparatus further comprises a bearing or similar assembly coupled to the support for allowing the platform to rotate about an axis which is displaced a distance from the user while standing atop the platform during simulation thus simulating bottom and top turns. The apparatus further comprises a stand coupled to the bearing for securely supporting the bearing and tilting the axis of rotation.
Virtual Reality Exercise Game
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for a virtual reality exercise game. One of the methods includes determining a head rotation of the user and a head lean of the user on an exercise device based on data from one or more sensors. The method includes presenting a virtual reality environment on a virtual reality headset, wherein the perspective of the user in the virtual world is determined by a vehicle that defines the velocity of the perspective, a body which defines a reference view point of the perspective (with the head looking forward), and a head which defines the view point of the perspective. The method also includes determining to apply rotation to the body in response to determining that a direction of the head rotation is in a direction of the lean.
Sequenced chamber wave generator controller and method
A wave generating apparatus mobile application controller and method is provided in which a mobile controller actuates a plurality of wave generating chambers in sequence using a delay between actuation of each chamber to produce a rideable wave in a pool. The mobile application controller allows the user to select the exact type of wave to be produced by the wave generator apparatus by selecting size, shape, and pattern of the wave. The application also allows the user to use a camera to photograph or record herself or someone else, even while riding a wave.
MULTIFUNCTIONAL BALANCE EXERCISE MACHINE
A multifunctional balance exercise machine comprises a balancing mechanism including loading board, spring, elastic column, and motion-tracking sensor; a first display unit and an electronic control device loaded with motion sensor game program arranged on the exercise equipment; whereby when the fitness user stands on the loading board, the user body weight and the stress applied by feet transmit to the elastic column and the spring via the loading board, cause the elastic column and the spring compressed or stretched, and force the loading board to oscillate, then achieve the effect of balance exercise; furthermore, the motion tracking sensor transmit signal of oscillation data to electronic control device, the processor unit operates the data, and present the image of the motion sensor game via the first display unit to achieve entertaining effect of virtual reality game.
Hydraulic system and method for water control
Aspects of the present disclosure involve hydraulic systems and methods for altering a flow of a body of water, such as a river, channel, and/or other flowing or uncontained bodies of water. In one aspect, a hydraulic system provides a velocity barrier for the impedance of aquatic organism migration. More particularly, the velocity barrier may be adapted based on the swimming capabilities of one or more aquatic organisms to impede migration. The aquatic organism may be one or more species of fish, such as species sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus). The example implementations shown and described herein reference the restriction of the sea lamprey. However, it will be appreciated that other aquatic organisms could be restricted by the presently disclosed technology, for example, with different hydraulic targets depending on swimming capabilities.
Wave pool and wave generator for bi-directional and dynamically-shaped surfing waves
A wave pool and wave generating mechanism are disclosed. The wave pool includes a bathymetry that includes a dynamically shapeable reef along a length or circumference of a channel that defines the wave pool. The wave generating mechanism includes a foil that has a shape for bi-directionality based on an adjustment of a yaw angle of the foil. The foil can be further controlled to increase or decrease certain surface areas or other angles of interacting with water in the wave pool.
