Plug and play energy storage system
Provided is an energy storage system for a marine vessel. The energy storage system includes a battery pack and a storage container (i) configured for housing the battery pack and other components and (ii) including an electrical interface for electrically coupling the battery pack to the vessel. The energy storage system also includes an air blast cooling system (i) mountable to a first section of the container and (ii) for cooling the battery pack and an air conditioning system configured for cooling the other components.
Electrical distribution system for personal water craft
An electrical distribution system for personal water craft. The primary components include a digital switching device; a series of power lines; and one or more remote controls, a control panel, or both. The digital switching device is preferably a bank of solid state relay switches controlled by an MCU. The control panel also has an MCU. The control panel MCU communicates with the digital switching device MCU. This allows signals from the control panel to travel on a single communication cable to the digital switching device, significantly reducing the control panel footprint compared to prior art control panels. When a radio frequency (RF) receiver is provided, the electrical distribution system may receive signals from a remote control. The remote control may be utilized in addition to or in lieu of the control panel. Power lines run from the digital switching device to wherever power is desired in the vessel.
Windmill synchronization in an electric propulsion system
A propulsion system is described that includes an electrical bus, a generator configured to provide electrical power to the electrical bus, a plurality of propulsory configured to provide thrust by simultaneously being driven by the electrical power at the electrical bus, and a controller. The controller is configured to synchronize a rotational speed of an individual propulsor from the plurality of propulsory with a rotational speed of the generator after the individual propulsor has become unsynchronized with the rotational speed of the generator by controlling at least one of the rotational speed of the generator, nozzle area of the individual propulsor, or a pitch angle of the individual propulsor.
Hull propulsion mechanism
A hull propulsion mechanism includes a ship body; a wind blade, which is set to the top of the ship body and has a plurality of sails for obtaining a rotating force from wind blade; a shaft, which sustains the wind blade and is a rolling axis as well for conveying the rotating force by the wind blade; a water pump, which is a power unit that circulates water by making use of a turning force from the shaft; and an engine, which obtains hull propulsion from screws that are rotated by a circulated water pressure from the water pump. With this configuration, the hull propulsion mechanism can obtain enough propulsive force without consuming fossil fuels.
System for Energy Regeneration and Distribution
Disclosed is a system and method for regenerating and distributing energy, such as employed on a vessel or floating offshore installation, the system including a first power distribution system, a second power distribution system electrically isolated from the first power distribution system, and a flywheel mechanically connected to both the first and second power distribution systems. Each of the first and second power distribution systems may include a motor/generator mechanically connected to the flywheel and a drive module electrically connected to its respective motor/generator. The flywheel drive modules may be connected to a common flywheel control module that includes a control algorithm for operating the system.
Navigation method for ship, and ship
A navigation method for a ship which includes: a plurality of main generators that feed power to navigation equipment used in normal navigation and appliances for the living quarters provided within a ship body; and an emergency generator that feeds power to emergency equipment in case of fire or flood. The navigation method includes: an emergency power feeding step for feeding power to the emergency equipment using the emergency generator when at least one of the plurality of main generators is disabled due to fire or flood; and a return-to-port power feeding step for feeding power to return-to-port equipment, required for navigation for returning to port, using the main generators and the emergency generator after the fire or flood has subsided.
THRUSTER ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A thruster electric power system includes one or more energy storage units configured to power an electric thruster of a mobile offshore drilling unit in response to one or more combustion generators of the mobile offshore drilling unit being unavailable to provide electric power to the electric thruster. A mobile offshore drilling unit capable of dynamic positioning includes one or more thruster enclosures, each thruster enclosure including: (a) one or more thruster converters configured to power respective electric thrusters, and (b) one or more energy storage units configured to power the respective electric thrusters of the one or more thruster converters in response to one or more combustion generators of the mobile offshore drilling unit being unavailable to provide electric power to the electric thrusters.
Compositions and Methods for Treatment of Protease Mediated Disease
A method is provided for a condition related to the activity of a protease through the administration of a -defensin, analog, or derivative is described. Suitable proteases include metalloproteases and cysteine proteases such as Cathepsin-C. The -defensin, analog, or derivative can be effectively administered parenterally, topically, or orally.
