Fracturing system for a canopy of an aircraft
A canopy for an aircraft includes a transparent cover, and a severance cord coupled to the transparent cover. The severance cord includes a fragmenting pattern including a plurality of outer perimeter segments that define an outer perimeter of the fragmenting pattern, and a plurality of inner fragmenting segments that are inside the outer perimeter. The fragmenting pattern is configured to break the transparent cover into numerous fragments when the severance cord is detonated.
Aircraft canopy jettison
Aircraft canopy jettison systems, apparatus, and methods are described herein. An example aircraft includes a forward fuselage defining a cockpit, a seat in the cockpit, a pivot pin coupled to the forward fuselage, and a canopy removably coupled to the forward fuselage over the cockpit. The canopy includes a frame having a hinge portion. The hinge portion includes a cam. The cam is dimensioned such that when the canopy is jettisoned while the aircraft is at zero altitude and zero airspeed, a travel path of the hinge portion does not intersect a travel path of the seat when the seat is ejected while the aircraft is at zero altitude and zero airspeed.

Aircraft fuselage comprising at least two transparent walls interposed between an upper portion and a lower portion of the fuselage
An aircraft fuselage includes: at least one lower part, at least one upper part, structural connections connecting the lower part and the upper part in joining zones, in each joining zone, at least one space between the lower and upper parts and the structural connections, and a transparent wall for closing off each space.
Windshield wiper fluid dispensing system
An aircraft windshield wiper system includes a wiper arm, a wiper blade coupled to a first end of the wiper arm, and an output shaft coupled to a second end of the wiper arm. The wiper blade includes a fluid dispensing system including nozzles, a fluid control unit, fluid lines, fluid source, and a user interface. The wiper blade with the fluid dispensing system is configured to dispense a variety of fluids directly from the wiper blade onto the windshield of an aircraft.
Aircraft escape system and ejection seat sequencer for ejection systems
An article of manufacture may include a tangible, non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon for controlling deployment of aircraft escape and ejection seat subsystems. The instructions, in response to execution by a sequencer, cause the sequencer to perform operations, which may comprise receiving, by the sequencer, a power input; sending, by the sequencer, a first deploy signal to a first aircraft escape subsystem; and sending, by the sequencer, a second deploy signal to a first ejection seat subsystem.
Optimized module for aircraft cockpit
To facilitate assembly of an aircraft cockpit, a cockpit module includes an instrument panel to support at least one screen and an air conditioning distribution block bordering the instrument panel and integral with a rear face of it. The air conditioning distribution block includes an air distributor, an excess air collector, and air distribution channels each including a first end communicating with the air distributor and a second end communicating with the excess air collector, each distribution channel being equipped with an air outlet arranged between its first and second ends.
CANOPY SEPARATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AN AIRCRAFT
A canopy for an aircraft includes a pivot assembly including a first hinge and a second hinge opposite from the first hinge. The first hinge includes a first pivot slot having a first length. The first pivot slot is configured to retain a first aft pin of a fuselage of the aircraft. The second hinge includes a second pivot slot having a second length. The second pivot slot is configured to retain a second aft pin of the fuselage of the aircraft. The first length differs from the second length.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INDICATING RELEASE OF A CANOPY AN AIRCRAFT
A system for initiating a canopy release signal for a canopy of an aircraft includes a first striker secured to the canopy, and a first initiator assembly secured to a fuselage of the aircraft. The first initiator assembly has a protrusion. The first striker is configured to be rotated against the protrusion of the first initiator assembly. The canopy release signal is output in response to the first striker rotating against the protrusion of the first initiator assembly.
Metamaterial Optical Filter and Methods for Producing the Same
A metamaterial optical filter including: a transparent substrate; and a photosensitive polymer layer provided to the transparent substrate, wherein the photosensitive polymer layer is treated using a laser to form a non-conformal holographically patterned subwavelength grating, the holographic grating configured to block a predetermined wavelength of electromagnetic radiation. A system and method for manufacturing holographically patterned subwavelength grating onto the photosensitive polymer layer including: applying a photosensitive polymer layer to a transparent substrate; placing the photosensitive polymer layer between a laser and a mirror; scanning the laser over the photosensitive polymer layer such that a holographic grating is created within the photosensitive polymer layer by interaction between the laser light and light reflected from the mirror; and stacking two or more holographically patterned subwavelength grating layers to form complex metamaterial optical filter stacks.
