Telescoping propeller blades for aerial vehicles

Sounds are generated by an aerial vehicle during operation. For example, the motors and propellers of an aerial vehicle generate sounds during operation. Systems, methods, and apparatus may actively adjust the position and/or configuration of one or more propeller blades of a propulsion mechanism to generate different sounds and/or lifting forces from the propulsion mechanism.

The invention relates to aviation equipment. An object of this invention is to develop a new aerodynamic device which can extend the range of aerodynamic devices for aviation, increase the efficiency of the air flow power use, increase the efficiency of the lifting force and improve the efficiency of controlling the wing resultant forces. For this purpose, the aerodynamic device has an aerodynamic wing (2) with a blower (1) of gaseous working fluid (such as air) mounted above the wing (2), in accordance with the invention, the aerodynamic wing (2) has a specific shape it is designed in the form of a double-curved open surface made up by a system of longitudinal grooves (7,8) along the whole wing surface The wing (2) has a convergent segment (4) and a divergent segment (6); between the convergent and the divergent segments there is a smooth transitional segment (5). The wing outlines have end elements (11). In the convergent and the divergent segments of the wing lower surface which is not blown by air, there is a controlled drive system (10) for the wing surface cambering and area changing. The divergent segment tip on the wing trailing edge has a deflectable controlled element (9). The structural parts of the present invention meet special conditions.

Tandem wing aircraft with variable lift and enhanced safety

A tandem wing aircraft having a fore wing, an aft wing, and a middle wing, attached relative to the aircraft and each other such that the middle wing provides a substantial portion of the total lift at landing speeds, and a minimal portion of the total lift at cruise speeds. At cruise speeds, induced drag is minimized, permitting higher speeds, greater fuel efficiency, and/or greater payload. Advantageously, the wing loading at cruise speeds is higher providing better passenger comfort while still providing controllability and safety at landing speeds.

Inflatable propeller

A method and apparatus for controlling movement of an aircraft. An aerodynamic function desired for controlling the movement of the aircraft at a particular altitude is identified. The aerodynamic function identified is part of a group of aerodynamic functions used to control the movement of the aircraft at a number of different altitudes. A group of inflatable blades is filled with a fluid to a pressure that corresponds to the aerodynamic function. The group of inflatable blades at the pressure has a shape and a group of dimensions that provide the aerodynamic function.

AIRCRAFT WITH A FOLDABLE WING TIP DEVICE

An aircraft including a wing and a wing tip device is disclosed. The wing tip device is moveable between a flight configuration for use during flight and a ground configuration for use during ground-based operations. In the ground configuration the wing tip device is folded inwardly from the flight configuration such that the span of the aircraft is reduced. The wing tip device is connected to the wing along a hinge axis by spar beams of the wing tip device, one of the beams being mounted for pivoting about a fixed axis and the other beam being mounted on a spherical bearing to provide greater freedom of movement. Various actuator arrangements may be provided to pivot the wing tip device.

POWER SUPPLY FOR AN AIRCRAFT AND CORRESPONDING AIRCRAFT

A power supply for an aircraft includes a drone capable of flight and including rotors, a DC-to-DC converter, a battery for driving the rotors and a locking device for securing a plug connection between the drone and the aircraft. The drone is set up to secure the plug connection by the locking device until the aircraft reaches a prescribed altitude, and the power supply is configured in such a way that the battery supplies power to the aircraft by the DC-to-DC converter as long as the plug connection exists.
