A foot and hand pedaled bicycle assembly that facilitates a full body working during riding includes a bicycle that has a front wheel, a rear wheel and a frame. The frame has a top member and a lower member that each pivotally extends between a seat post and a handlebar fork. The handlebar fork is urgeable toward or away from the seat post. A pair of pedals is provided and each of the pedals is rotatably coupled to the frame for rotating the rear wheel. A pair of hand cranks is provided and each of the hand cranks is coupled to the handlebar fork for steering the bicycle. Moreover, each of the hand cranks is in mechanical communication with the front wheel for rotating the front wheel when the hand cranks are cranked.

AMBULATION SIMULATION SYSTEMS, TERRAIN SIMULATION SYSTEMS, TREADMILL SYSTEMS, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

In various embodiments, a treadmill system may include one or more custom treadmill hardware devices and one or more accompanying pieces of software which may be configured to work in tandem to simulate one or more virtual terrains within a game on a physical treadmill. In particular embodiments, the system is configured to enable a user to control a direction of a virtual avatar as the avatar traverses the virtual terrain (e.g., while the user is using the treadmill). The system may then be configured to manipulate the treadmill (i.e., incline of the treadmill, speed of the treadmill, etc.) based on the terrain that the avatar is currently traversing. The system may utilize one or more imaging devices to identify particular gestures performed by the user. In this way, the system may be configured provide hands free control to the user while the user is using the treadmill.

System and Method for Pole Biking

A stationary bicycle is described having walking pole attachments for a pair of walking poles. The walking pole attachments are mechanisms that are attachable and mountable to one or more parts of a handlebar of a stationary bicycle in order to store the walking poles on the stationary bicycle. The walking poles can be mounted and stored vertically on either side of the handlebar of the stationary bicycle or can be mounted and stored horizontally on top of the handlebar of the stationary bicycle so as to be easily accessible to the user of the stationary bicycle while the user is seated on the stationary bicycle and is pedaling. Further, exercises are described that highlight various manners of exercising on the stationary bicycle while using the walking poles in a new form of exercise called pole-biking. Further, attachment mechanisms are attachable to the stationary bicycle for a resistance band.

There is disclosed a system for engaging in exercise. The system includes a removable resistance device suitable for temporary installation into multiple, separate exercise devices. When installed in the separate exercise device, the resistance device is operable under control of a computing device to selectively increase or decrease resistance applied to the separate exercise device and to thereby selectively increase or decrease the difficulty of an exercise associated with the separate exercise device.

Method and system for determining data associated with lower limb activity

A method includes steps of: measuring a variation in joint angle of a knee of a cyclist to obtain joint angle data; sensing a torque applied on a crank of a cycle or pedaling force applied to a pedal of the cycle to obtain force data; measuring an angular position of the crank to obtain crank angle data; measuring an electrical potential variation of a measured muscle of the cyclist to generate a measured EMG signal; estimating activation data and joint moment data based on aforementioned data and characteristics data; converting the activation data into estimated EMG signals based on the measured EMG signal and the activation data; and computing a coactivation parameter based on the aforementioned EMG signals.

Steering assembly for a mounted bicycle

A steering assembly for a mounted bicycle is disclosed herein. The steering assembly includes a support base and at least one omnidirectional roller assembly extending from a bottom surface thereof. The at least one omnidirectional roller assembly is operatively disposed in direct contact with a ground surface and is structured to facilitate movement of the support base along the ground surface in a plurality of different arcuate and linear paths to accommodate varying trail measurements of a bicycle. The varying trail measurements of the bicycle are defined by varying angles of the bicycle relative to the ground surface during operative use of the steering assembly.
