PASSIVE MECHANICAL ROTOR LOCK FOR SMALL UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS (UAS)
A propeller assembly including a shaft having a rotational axis; a plurality of propellers connected to the shaft; means for deploying the plurality of propellers using a centrifugal force generated from a rotation of the shaft, so as to provide vertical thrust during a vertical take-off and landing of the aircraft; and means for restoring the propellers into a stowed configuration.

AIRPLANE THAT PERFORMS VERTICAL TAKEOFF WITH A POSITIVE PITCH ANGLE
This invention relates to an airplane capable of hovering, hyper-short takeoff and landing (hyper-STOL) and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) while assuming a positive pitch angle. The airplane comprises at least a pair of wings, at least one vertical propulsor, and at least two horizontal propulsors whose thrust vectors are tiltable with a tilt angle that is adjustable from 0° to 76° relative to the airplane's longitudinal axis when viewed from a side view. The impeller of the vertical propulsor may be fixed-pitch or variable-pitch.
Ducted fans having edgewise flow augmentation
A ducted fan assembly for generating thrust during edgewise forward flight. The ducted fan assembly includes a duct having an inlet with a leading portion and a diffuser with a trailing portion during the edgewise forward flight. A fan disposed within the duct is configured to rotate relative to the duct about a fan axis to generate an airflow through the duct from the inlet to the diffuser. An active flow control system includes a plurality of injectors including a first injector configured to inject pressurized air substantially tangential with the leading portion of the inlet and a second injector configured to inject pressurized air substantially tangential with the trailing portion of the diffuser such that when the injectors are injecting pressurized air, flow separation of the airflow at the leading portion of the inlet and the trailing portion of the diffuser is reduced.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF ROTOR MANAGEMENT
In an aspect, a system comprising a computing device. The computing device is configured to determine a drag minimization axis of a rotor connected to an aircraft. The rotor includes a first end and a second end. The rotor is configured to rotate about an axis. The computing device is further configured to determine a halting point of the rotor, wherein the halting point includes a drag minimization axis of the rotor. The computing device is configured to send a halting command to at least a magnetic element to halt the rotor, wherein the halting process is configured to stop a movement of the rotor and position the rotor in the halting point. The position of the rotor in the halting point includes the first end pointing in one direction of the drag minimization axis and the second end pointing in an opposite direction of the first end.
