Remote adaptive motor resistance training exercise apparatus and method of use thereof
09586091 · 2017-03-07 ·

The invention comprises a method and/or an apparatus using a computer configured exercise system equipped with an electric motor to provide physical resistance to user motion in conjunction with means for sharing exercise system related data and/or user performance data with a secondary user, such as a medical professional, a physical therapist, a trainer, a computer generated competitor, and/or a human competitor. For example, the exercise system is used with a remote trainer to enhance exercise performance, with a remote medical professional for rehabilitation, and/or with a competitor in a competition, such as in a power/weightlifting competition or in a video game. The exercise system is optionally configured with an intelligent software assistant and knowledge navigator functioning as a personal assistant application.

An accessory for wheelchairs for playing football as a includes a pair of mutually independent mechanisms, symmetrical in respect of a central longitudinal plane, each of which includes an operating bar (3) and a mechanism made up of a hinged quadrangle, formed of an articulated linkage base which forms a fixed part joined to the body of the chair and which houses a pin (5) for the operating bar (3) to rotate; a propulsion body (9) for propelling and retaining a ball, hinged to the fixed part on a hinge pin (91); an operating lever (17) joined to the lower part of the operating bar (3), and able to turn with said bar; and an auxiliary part (18), hinged to the operating lever (17) on a hinging pin (93), and to the mechanism for propelling and retaining the ball on one hinging pin (92).

Suspension and body attachment system and differential pressure suit for body weight support devices

A differential pressure body suit with external support against body suit migration. In its preferred embodiment, such body suit may comprise a close-fitting, multi-layered suit sealed against a mammal's skin to contain the differential pressure, or a looser-fitting suit that bends at the mammal's joints with minimal force. External support structure includes either fixed or movable mechanical supports attached to the body suit, extraordinary air pressure levels for making the body suit rigid, or exoskeletons attached to the body suit, or a counter-force adjustment cable suspension system. A cyclic control system can turn the differential pressure condition within the body suit on and off on a selective basis to accommodate the movement of the legs of the mammal. This differential pressure body suit provides a portable and convenient system for, e.g., rehabilitating a skeletal joint injury or training the mammal for injury prevention or athletic performance or fat burning. The pressurization reduces the weight of the body to greater or lesser extents, and offloads the weight to the ground through the external support means.

Apparatus and system for automatic collection and delivery of spherical game elements

A collection apparatus including an autonomous power supply means and an image acquisition means for acquiring image sequences of at least one area of surveillance is disclosed. The collection apparatus may further include control means connected to the image acquisition means for receiving and processing the acquired sequences of images, to detect the presence and position of said game elements, and to send a control command to move the collection apparatus to collect a detected spherical game element. The collection apparatus also includes interaction means for interacting with a player to deliver a previously collected spherical game element to the player and a delivery device controlled by the control means to perform the delivery. An automatic collection system is also disclosed that uses two collection apparatuses, operating in a complementary and/or synchronized way to collect and deliver a spherical element to a player, on request by the player.

Wheelchair foot support

A rolling footrest is provided and a method of using such by a wheelchair occupant. The footrest may optionally include a foot retainer, a platform and freely rolling castors. In some embodiments, replacing a fixed footrest will shorten the length of the wheelchair enabling the wheelchair to traverse sharp curves. In some embodiments, the footrest may include a swivel lock and/or a ratchet. In some embodiments the footrest may be used for therapeutic exercise. In some embodiments, the footrest may be used for propelling a wheelchair.
