The attachment generally includes an upper frame member and a lower frame member, each of which are selectively engageable with the existing equipment. The upper frame member provides an adjustable back pad that can be used with an adjustable belt to stabilize the exerciser's upper body when using the equipment. The lower frame member includes wheel locks to stabilize the wheelchair after it has been rolled into the lower frame member. It may further include fork members to secure handles and cables of the existing machine to make them more accessible for the wheelchair user. Seat Adjustment Mechanism
20200268157 · 2020-08-27 ·

A mechanism for adjusting vertical seat position using a single extremity and requires no user weight to lower. The mechanism features a seat with an integrated grip for lifting. A spring-loaded latch obstructs the teeth to prevent seat lowering without rotation of a handle. The latch pivots out from obstructing the teeth when lifted. To lower the user rotates the handle to disengage the latch, causing the seat to lower under its own weight. At the desired height, the user releases the handle to permit the latch to obstruct downward movement. A gas spring may counter-balance to reduce overall effective seat weight, making the seat easier to lift while still allowing the seat to lower under its own weight upon rotating the handle. The mechanism for horizontal adjustment couples to the handle, which displaces a cable that disengages a pin allowing the seat to move horizontally on a track.

Exercise machine

An exercise machine has a mobile base and an upright support extending upwards from the mobile base. An upper support assembly extends forward from an upper portion of the upright support and an exercise device is suspended from the upper support assembly at a location spaced forward from the upright support. The exercise machine may include a compact and safe counterbalancing gas spring mechanism that tends to move the exercise device away from the exerciser, and that requires a force to be applied to move an exercise device down towards the exerciser. The exercise machine may include an exercise device that is rotatable along a vertical axis, and may be coupled to an adjustable monitor for a wide range of uses. The exercise machine may be used by a exerciser lying supine, sitting in a chair or wheelchair, or standing in front of or adjacent the exercise machine.
