At least one of the first rotation members includes a plurality of grooves arranged apart from each other on an outer circumferential surface of the at least one of the first rotation members in a circumferential direction, to have a surface shape different from an inner circumferential surface of the track belt.

A treadmill with an anti-entrapment function allows a user to stand on the treadmill and includes a running unit, a control unit, and a sensing unit. The running unit includes two lateral bases, a driving roller, a driven roller, and a running belt. Each lateral base has a bottom end portion. The sensing unit includes a guard bar pivotally provided at the bottom end portions and at least one sensing member. When the user is accidentally pulled into the gap between the running belt and one of the lateral bases, the guard bar will be subjected to an external force and thus rotated downward about a rotation axis, thereby driving the at least one sensing member to send a warning signal to the control unit, in order for the control unit to control the rotation speed of the driving roller accordingly, lest the user be pulled deeper into the gap.

An example system includes a protective cover for a treadmill, a sensor associated with the treadmill or the protective cover, the sensor detecting when an object is near or within an entrapping area between the protective cover and a conveyor of the treadmill, and a controller configured to receive signals from the sensor, the controller allowing the conveyor to freely operate when no objects are sensed within the entrapping area and stopping the conveyor when an object is sensed within the entrapping area.

The running unit includes two lateral bases, a driving roller, a driven roller, and a running belt. Each lateral base has a bottom end portion lower than the running belt. The detection unit includes a transmitter for emitting a light wave and a receiver for receiving the light wave. When accidently pulled into the gap between the running belt and one of the lateral bases, the user or a foreign object is moved by the running belt to the space between the transmitter and the receiver, thus keeping the receiver from receiving the light wave. The receiver sends out a warning signal in response, in order for the control unit to control the rotation speed of the driving roller accordingly to prevent continued entrapment.

Water channels are positioned on the bottom surface of the pad defined as a recessed area between individual ones of the bottom-side projections. A drainage hole is positioned in at least one of the bottom-side projections such that the drainage hole does not connect with any of the water channels on the bottom surface. The drainage hole may be at least partially coupled to projection channels on the bottom-side projections, where the projection channels act as a water vacuum to facilitate air circulation and vertical water evacuation relative to the drainage hole.
