Each of the first and second seatback pockets includes a member configured to move apart from the seatback to facilitate access to a bottom of the respective seatback pocket. In embodiments, the first and second seatback pockets are positioned in respective first and second recesses formed in the seatback.

A switch mechanism actuates an electrically adjustable screen mount. The switch mechanism allows a user to select between a first automatic operation for stowing and deployment of the display screen (6), and a second, user adjustable operation for adjustment of the deployed position of the display screen (6), in order to tilt the screen back and forth. The adjustment back and forth may be accompanied by a movement upward or downward, with an upward movement when the top of the screen tilts away from the user, and downward movement when the top of the screen tilts towards the user. This can compensate for tilting of the surface to which the screen mount is attached, such as a seat-back.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING QUICK RELEASE OF VIDEO MONITORS FROM AN ASSEMBLY

A quick release assembly for use in mounting a display system to a fixture. The system includes an attachment assembly on a back side of the display system that receives pins from a mounting bracket into openings of lock modules that include a latch that holds at least one pin in place. The latch is held in the lock position by spring bias. An actuator wire made of a shape memory alloy contracts when an electrical current is applied. The contraction of the wire overcomes the spring bias to move the latch from the lock position to an unlocked position to allow the display system to be removed from the pin.

Described are passenger seat assemblies having an impact bracket for a support pin. The support pin may be a component of a monitor assembly. The impact bracket includes a body that defines an aperture and a flex member within the aperture. The flex member defines a support region and a travelling region of the aperture. The flex member retains the support pin in the support region responsive to a load that is less than a minimum impact load, and releases the support pin from the support region into the travelling region responsive to a load that is at least the minimum impact load.

A seating assembly for a passenger aircraft. The seating assembly includes a plurality of passenger seats including a first passenger seat and a second passenger seat. Each of the passenger seats includes an articulated seat pan to provide for moving the passenger seat between a first upright position and a second reclined position. In addition, the second passenger seat may be positioned in a staggered configuration with respect to the first passenger seat. A fixed outer privacy shell partially surrounds each seat and includes at least one rear wall and a base attached to the floor of the passenger aircraft for receiving each of the passenger seats. In addition, a center console also may be within each of the fixed outer privacy shell and located adjacent to each of the passenger seats.

The system may further include an inflight entertainment unit communicatively coupled to the seat control module. The inflight entertainment unit can be configured to receive diagnostic and usage information associated with the one or more components from the seat control module. The system may further include an aircraft server communicatively coupled to the seat control module and/or to the inflight entertainment unit. The aircraft server can be configured to receive the diagnostic and usage information from the seat control module and/or the inflight entertainment unit, and can be further configured to transmit the diagnostic and usage information to a ground server.

A seat device of the vehicle includes a processor executing instructions out of a memory and a display device for displaying content of a media file of an entertainment system. The display device includes a first segment to display content of the media file, and a second segment with a capacitive layer. The second layer includes an auxiliary control segment with input icons to control media file presentation without displaying any control icons within the first segment while the content is being played, and/or an auxiliary display segment separate from the first segment to display messages without interrupting media file presentation.
