Impact bracket stress-deformation release mechanism
Described are passenger seat assemblies having an impact bracket for a support pin. The support pin may be a component of a monitor assembly. The impact bracket includes a body that defines an aperture and a flex member within the aperture. The flex member defines a support region and a travelling region of the aperture. The flex member retains the support pin in the support region responsive to a load that is less than a minimum impact load, and releases the support pin from the support region into the travelling region responsive to a load that is at least the minimum impact load.
ANIMATIONS OVER MULTIPLE SCREENS IN AN IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM
An expansion of the display of graphical content over multiple spatially separated smart monitors of an in-flight entertainment system involves initiating data communications links between each of the multiple smart monitors. A background graphical content is segmented into corresponding sections for each of the multiple smart monitors, with being unique to a specific one. Each of the sections of the background graphical content are displayed on the respective smart monitors, and a moving foreground graphical content is animated across one or more of the smart monitors. Transitions of the moving foreground graphical content from an originating one of the smart monitors to a destination one of the smart monitors is communicated over the corresponding data communications link initiated therewith. Inputs from the smart monitors are received to correspondingly modify the animating of the moving foreground graphical content.
RECONFIGURABLE MODULAR IN-VEHICLE ENTERTAINMENT MONITOR SYSTEMS
In-vehicle entertainment (WE) monitor systems can be reconfigurable and modular to improve heat dissipation characteristics and to enable separate removal or installation of one or more parts within the WE monitor system without affecting the rest of the IVE monitor system. A modular system for providing in-vehicle entertainment to passengers on a commercial passenger vehicle includes a main housing, a peripheral housing, and a display panel that are separately removable or installable. A main printed circuit board (PCB) in the main housing is electrically connected to a secondary PCB in the peripheral housing via the first data cable and the secondary PCB is electrically connected to the display panel via the second data cable in a series configuration.
COMPACT SEAT ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE
A seat assembly for a vehicle includes a backrest. A tray table is moveably coupled to the backrest. The tray table is configured to be moved between a stowed position and a deployed position. A literature pocket is formed in the backrest. The literature pocket is disposed between the tray table in the stowed position and a rear surface of the backrest. In an embodiment, a device support is moveably coupled to the literature pocket. The device support is moveable between a support stowed position and a support deployed position that is configured to support a device.
Systems and methods for monitoring the health of vehicle passengers using camera images
Systems and methods for monitoring the health of vehicle passengers using images of the passengers taken by onboard imaging devices (e.g., digital cameras), determining health data (e.g., vital signs) on-board the passenger vehicle using the images, and communicating (in one or more instances) with a remote telemedical monitoring system to determine medical information regarding the passengers and/or enable communication with a medical caregiver for diagnosis and treatment. The system may be especially useful in larger passenger vehicles, such as commercial aircraft, to monitor the health of all or most of the passengers but may also be used in other passenger vehicles including passenger trains, buses, ships, boats and automobiles. In one or more instances, the systems and methods primarily utilize images to determine health data (e.g., vital signs) of the passengers, such that the health data is obtained without physically contacting the passengers (contactless), as opposed to typical vital sign devices which physically contact a person.
PASSENGER SEAT VOICE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A passenger seat voice communication system (100) for a passenger seat of a passenger vehicle includes a first communication device (102A) that supports voice communication. The first communication (102A) device includes a receiver (108) and a video monitor (110). The system includes a second communication device (102B) configured to support voice communication at a second passenger seat. The system also includes a controller (104) that receives from the first communication device (102A) a selection and request to establish voice communication with the second passenger seat, and sends the request to the second communication device (102B). If the request is accepted by the second communication device (102B), the controller (104) establishes voice communication between the first communication device (102A) and the second communication device (102B).
Device, system, and method of determining reclining state
A reclining state determination device includes a detecting unit, an image capturing unit, and a control unit. The detecting unit detects an acceleration of a display device attached, so as to be capable of tilting, to a rear surface of a reclining seat. The image capturing unit captures an image from the display device. The control unit determines a reclining state of the reclining seat on the basis of the captured image and the detected acceleration.
Amenities panel for passenger seat for holding passenger belongings and devices
An amenities panel for a passenger seat includes a body and at least one convenience feature. The body includes an aft-facing side and is configured to connect to a backrest of the passenger seat. The amenities panel is configured to be positioned between a forward-facing side of the backrest and a stowed tray table.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS
An electronic apparatus that is provided on a back surface of a seat and can be connected with an external apparatus, the electronic apparatus including casing (109), and connector (101) or (102) that is connected with the external apparatus, in which casing (109) includes an inclined surface that is inclined at a prescribed angle or a curved surface that is curved, toward a middle in a lateral width direction, and connector (101) or (102) is disposed in the inclined surface or the curved surface and connectable with the external apparatus in a direction perpendicular to the inclined surface or the curved surface.
