Device, system, and method of determining reclining state
A reclining state determination device includes a detecting unit, an image capturing unit, and a control unit. The detecting unit detects an acceleration of a display device attached, so as to be capable of tilting, to a rear surface of a reclining seat. The image capturing unit captures an image from the display device. The control unit determines a reclining state of the reclining seat on the basis of the captured image and the detected acceleration.
Aircraft cabin management system
An aircraft cabin management system includes a control unit and at least one sensor intended to be incorporated into a seat and suitable for establishing a communication with the control unit in order to transmit, to the control unit, at least one signal relating to at least one measurement performed by the sensor.
In-vehicle services through attendant devices, user-provided devices, and/or an in-vehicle computer system
An approach to facilitating in-vehicle services through attendant devices, user-provided devices, and/or an in-vehicle computer system is provided. In one implementation, one or more communication sessions with the in-vehicle computer system may be facilitated by an attendant device. Passenger information relating to one or more passengers of a vehicle and service information relating to one or more services to be provided to the one or more passengers may be obtained by the attendant device from the in-vehicle computer system via the one or more communication sessions. The passenger information and the service information may be provided by the attendant device. An indication that at least one service is in progress or is complete is received by the attendant device.
Unified passenger service unit (PSU) control
A unified passenger service unit (PSU) control concentrically incorporates a reading light, a gasper outlet, and a notification ring within a control knob rotatable or pushable (via a pushbutton or the control knob itself) by an occupant of the aircraft seat to which the PSU control corresponds. The notification ring may be activated by the passenger or by the cabin crew, and may be visible throughout the aircraft. The notification rings may indicate an attendant call, or be activated by the crew in groups or waves to direct passenger activity. The PSU control includes a user interface (UI) display that serves as a control interface for the gasper outlet and reading light. The UI display may also show indicators or messages sent by the cabin crew.
Methods and systems for processing public announcements on a transportation vehicle
Methods and systems for a transportation vehicle are provided. One method includes receiving a network packet at a network interface device of an information system of a transportation vehicle; identifying public announcement audio in a payload of the network packet by the network interface device; extracting the public announcement audio from the payload of the network packet by the network interface device; transferring the public announcement audio to an audio system by the network interface device; and playing the public announcement audio by the audio system.
PASSENGER ENTERTAINMENT DEVICE, PASSENGER SEAT ARRANGEMENT AND VEHICLE
A passenger entertainment device operated by a controller associated with a vehicle passenger seat. The passenger seat includes a seat, a backrest and a pocket in a back surface of the backrest facing away from the seat. The entertainment device includes a base, a display attached to a base front surface and a cover pivotably attached to the base pivotable between a first position, in which the cover covers the display, and a second position, in which the cover exposes the display. A first fastener of the entertainment device is configured to interact with a second fastener on the seat to define a fastening system for detachably fastening the cover to the seat backrest when the cover is arranged in its second position and inserted into the seat pocket, while the base is arranged outside of the pocket with the display facing away from the seat backrest.
Passenger supply unit for an aircraft cabin
A passenger supply unit for an aircraft cabin, including an input device for detecting a control command from a passenger, and for outputting a control signal to a further device for controlling the further device according to the control command. A passenger supply unit can be controlled by a passenger independent of its height above the passenger seat. The unit can be independent from an in-flight entertainment system. The input device includes a contact free sensor to detect the control command without being contacted by a passenger.
Passenger communication system
A communication system for a vehicle seat includes a visual indicator having a lighting mechanism configured to display a plurality of colors, a control portion electrically connected to the visual indicator, and a plurality of modes. Each mode may be associated with one of the plurality of Selection of one of the plurality of modes causes the control portion to signal the lighting mechanism to display the color associated with the selected mode.
COMPONENT POSITIONING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AN INTERNAL CABIN OF VEHICLE
A component positioning system and method are configured to facilitate positioning of a component (such as a seat assembly) on a seat track within an internal cabin of a vehicle. The component positioning system and method include a component, and a position indicator coupled to a portion of the component. The position indicator emits a proper position indication when the component is in a proper position in relation to the seat track. The position indicator emits a remedial position indication when the component is not in the proper position with respect to the seat track.
