Repair and replacement mechanism for personal control units on aircraft
An assembly for opening or accessing an electronic communication and entertainment device holder for repair or replacement of its contents, including a latch which can be released by the contraction of an attached muscle wire actuator in response to a low current pulse sent by an attached wireless receiver.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING A USER TERMINAL FORMING PART OF AN ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM FOR A MOBILE PASSENGER TRANSPORT APPARATUS
The invention relates to a system for identifying a user terminal forming part of an entertainment system for a mobile passenger transport apparatus comprising a plurality of user terminals and a communication network connecting said user terminals, each user terminal comprising a screen, and being designed to be attached to a docking station positioned at a predetermined location. The docking station comprises an identification component encoding an identifier comprising spatial location information for the docking station, and the user terminal comprises an identifier reading device, adapted to obtain, upon command, said identifier from the identification component of the docking station to which said user terminal is attached, the user terminal comprising a memory and being adapted to store said identifier in said memory. The identifier is used during network communications in said communication network.
INTEGRATED AIRCRAFT GALLEY AND APPLIANCE OPERATING SYSTEM
An aircraft galley power and control system is disclosed having a plurality of electrical appliances within a monument, the galley control system including a control panel removed from the electrical appliances that include controls for operating each of the electrical appliances, The galley also includes a galley controller interface for receiving commands from a display screen on the control panel and communicating the commands to the electrical appliances.
Cabin arrangement for an aircraft, and aircraft
A cabin arrangement for an aircraft, includes a galley monument, which has at least one projection surface, and a projector device by which graphical information can be projected onto the at least one projection surface. Furthermore, an aircraft is described which has at least one such cabin arrangement with the galley monument.
Cover for a seat in an aircraft or spacecraft
The present invention provides a cover for a seat in an aircraft or spacecraft, including a receiver which is configured to receive in an exchangeable manner an electronic device which is fitted with a screen, at least one recess being provided in the region of the receiver such that the screen of the electronic device is exposed for viewing.
Transferring information between a vehicle based user device and a server to validate user information before granting internet access
An entertainment and connectivity system includes a processor for transferring information between a vehicle based user device and a server to validate a user's government identity before granting the user device access to the internet. The vehicle based server has an internet protocol address and communicates with user devices. The user devices each have an onboard internet protocol address mapped to the internet protocol address of the vehicle based server. A processor associated with the vehicle based server receives requests for internet service originating from the user devices. The requests include travel information or internet subscription plan information for a user of each of the user devices. The vehicle based server, or a ground based server that receives the request, generates an internet connection authorization decision based on validation of the user's government identity or the user's internet subscription plan information. The connection authorization decisions are then used to control whether the internet connections are established to the user devices. If the internet connections are established, internet session information for the user devices, including for each user device the onboard internet protocol address mapped to the internet protocol address of the vehicle based server, is stored in a ground based server and can be retrieved to identify the government identity of a user or a user's internet subscription plan information for each of the user devices.
Methods and systems for dynamically managing quality of service on transportation vehicles
Methods and systems are provided for a transportation vehicle. One method includes determining current available bandwidth rate based on network traffic generated by a plurality of devices and a plurality of traffic types on a transportation vehicle; utilizing a hierarchical tree structure to modify quality of service (QoS) that is indicated by a specific bandwidth rate associated with different priority levels, where each priority level is associated with one of the plurality of devices and the plurality of traffic types; and storing the modified QoS for the different priority levels at the hierarchical tree structure for a next update of the QoS when the current available bandwidth rate changes.
BLUETOOTH ATTACHMENT TO IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS THAT MAINTAIN EXISTING FUNCTIONALITY
A device that adds wireless Bluetooth capability for audio to an existing in-flight entertainment system is disclosed. Audio and power are sent from the existing system to provide power and audio input to the Bluetooth transmitter. The audio and power are split so that they are also sent to female audio and power ports for passengers to use in the same way in-flight entertainment systems are currently designed.
PRESET CAPTURE FOR A VEHICLE ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An aircraft includes a passenger cabin, a plurality of settable cabin environment systems, and an aircraft environment management system. The passenger cabin has an environment. The plurality of settable cabin environment systems are in operable communication with the passenger cabin and each control an aspect of the environment based on a setting. The aircraft environment management system is in electronic communication with the plurality of settable cabin environment systems and is programmed to: receive a preset capture request from a user; store, as an environment preset, the setting as it existed for each of the plurality of settable cabin environment systems at a time of receipt of the preset capture request; receive a preset recall request for the environment preset; and recall the environment preset by adjusting the setting of each of the plurality of settable cabin environment systems according to the environment preset.
Systems and methods for providing a wake-up user interface for a night mode on transportation vehicles
Methods and systems are provided for a transportation vehicle. One method includes enabling by a processor, a night mode for a seat device of an in-flight entertainment system (IFE) on an aircraft based on a night mode trigger; displaying by the processor, during the night mode, a wake-up user interface on the seat device for a passenger, when a seat device monitor backlight has turned on after the backlight was turned off, or a seat device backlight timer has triggered, where a brightness of the wake-up user interface is lower than a brightness of a default user interface of the seat device; and enabling by the processor a first set of functions of the seat device accessible from the wake-up user interface, the first set of functions being less than a second set of functions accessible from the default user-interface.
