AIRCRAFT FOR THE TRANSPORT OF PASSENGERS HAVING LOWER DECK FACILITIES
An aircraft includes a passenger cabin having a floor, a cargo compartment below the floor, a first access unit for accessing the cargo compartment from the passenger cabin, the first access unit being located on the floor and a utility space module arranged in the cargo. At least one part of the cargo compartment includes a first lateral half and a second lateral half in relation to a longitudinal axis of the aircraft; the lateral halves form the part of the cargo compartment. The utility space module includes a utility space cross-section in a direction normal to the longitudinal axis, which is dimensioned such that it conforms to a cross-section of one of the lateral halves of the cargo compartment. Further, the utility space module is placed exclusively in the first lateral half or the second lateral half of the cargo compartment directly below the first access unit.
Aircraft galley configuration
Embodiments of the present invention provide improved layouts that can increase space on-board aircraft and other passenger transport vehicles. The improved layouts may include two galley sections installed on an aircraft having a centerline and curved outer sidewalls. The first galley section can be positioned so that its longitudinal axis generally aligns with one of the outer sidewalls of the aircraft, and the second galley section can be positioned so that its longitudinal axis generally aligns with the longitudinal axis of the first galley. This can create a space along a rear side of the second galley section. The created space may be used for any number of options.
CREW REST SYSTEMS FOR AIRCRAFT AND RELATED METHODS
Presently disclosed crew rest systems for an aircraft may provide an upper crew rest positioned in the crown portion of the aircraft and a lower crew rest positioned in the cargo area of the aircraft, with both the upper crew rest and the lower crew rest being accessible from a single entrance enclosure. Each of the upper crew rest and lower crew rest may include one or more bunks, or locations for a crew member to rest (e.g., lie down). Such crew rest systems may be customizable and/or modular, such that the number of bunks in the upper crew rest and/or lower crew rest may be selectively increased or decreased. In some examples, the lower crew rest may be selectively removable, and replaced with a cargo pallet or cargo container. Related methods of customizing such crew rest systems are also disclosed.
Crew rest area on board of a vehicle, in particular an airplane
An area on board of a vehicle, in particular of an airplane. The area has a compartment and an opening providing access to the compartment. The area includes a curtain arranged to be drawn in a closed position in which the curtain covers the opening. The curtain includes at least one magnetic curtain element provided along a lower edge of the curtain, and the area includes at least one magnetic opening element positioned along a lower edge of the opening, which at least one magnetic opening element and at least one magnetic curtain element are arranged to attract each other when the curtain is in the closed position.
Overhead accommodations for aircraft
An accessible storage, rest, or work accommodation for an aircraft having a passenger cabin with a ceiling and a crown space above the ceiling, comprising: (a) a compartment in the crown space having at least one bunk; (b) an aperture in the passenger cabin ceiling, connecting the compartment to the passenger cabin; (c) a landing positioned below a floor of the compartment, below at least a portion of the aperture, inside the passenger cabin module; and (d) stairs or a ladder leading from the landing to a floor of the passenger cabin.
Bunk assembly and method of manufacturing thereof
A bunk assembly is provided. The bunk assembly includes a first plurality of bunks including a first bunk and a second bunk coupled end-to-end with the first bunk. The first and second bunks each include a cutout that substantially align forming a bunk slot between the first and second bunks when coupled end-to-end. The first plurality of bunks also includes a third bunk stacked on top of the first and second bunks when positioned in the bunk slot.
CABIN SECTION OF A PASSENGER CABIN OF A PASSENGER AIRCRAFT HAVING A BED SUPPORTED AGAINST A FLIGHT ATTENDANT SEAT
A cabin section of a passenger cabin of a passenger aircraft includes a flight attendant seat movable between a state of use and a stowed state, a bed movable between a state of use and a stowed state, and a floor section of a floor of the passenger cabin. The floor section is located between the flight attendant seat and the bed and is available for being walked on, when the flight attendant seat and the bed are both in the stowed state. The floor section is partially covered by the flight attendant seat in the state of use, is at least partially covered by the bed in the state of use, and is completely covered by both when the bed is in the state of use. The bed is supported against the flight attendant seat in the state of use.
