Aircraft seating systems

A method and apparatus comprising a plurality of seating systems and a frame for use in a passenger aircraft. A first seating system in the plurality of seating systems may have different dimensions from a second seating system in the plurality of seating systems. A frame may be configured to be connected to the plurality of seating systems.

Double-deck airplane

A double-deck airplane that facilitates passenger embarking/disembarking and cargo loading/unloading operations in order to maximize the number of flight missions carried out in a given time. The floors of its upper and lower decks are planar surfaces extending continuously inside the fuselage in at least the inner space of the fuselage intended for the payload; the lower deck is located at a height from the ground that allows carrying out passenger embarking/disembarking via equipment incorporated in the airplane without any external airport ground equipment; passenger and/or cargo compartments are distributed on the upper and/or lower decks; and the lifting structure is disposed in the airplane in a manner that none of its components crosses the upper and lower decks.

Method of determining a seating arrangement
09783302 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A method of determining a seating arrangement for an aircraft cabin includes entering configuration parameters into a processor including a cabin width, a quantity of aisles, a minimum aisle width, and a quantity of columns of seats, wherein each seat is movable between a seated configuration and a bed configuration. The method additionally includes entering seat parameters describing the taper in seat width from a main portion to a footrest, and entering configuration rules wherein in at least one column of an inboard column set and/or an outboard column set, the seats are reversed in direction and/or are staggered. The method further includes determining, using the processor, a seating arrangement including a column quantity in each column set, and a seat direction and/or a stagger for each column in the seating arrangement that results in a maximum seat width at a main portion of the seats.

Amenity Monument for Aircraft Cabins
20170283063 · 2017-10-05 ·

Preferred embodiments relate to an amenity monument installed in the middle of a cabin space that absorbs “dead-space” in a seating layout while simultaneously providing features and amenities that are desirable to passengers. In preferred embodiments, this may substantially enhance the array of seating options and configurations available to an aircraft interior designer. In certain embodiments, the amenity monument may be equipped with dimmable panels that are set to a transparent condition during taxi, take-off and landing. During flight, the dimmable panels may be set to a translucent or opaque condition that provides privacy for the passenger utilizing the amenity monument as well as passengers seated nearby. In some embodiments, the monuments may provide enhanced amenities like curved, surround-view screens and which display gaming, advertising, multimedia and/or retail content.

AIRCRAFT PASSENGER SUITE SEATING ARRANGEMENTS WITH ALL AISLE ACCESS
20170240283 · 2017-08-24 ·

In an illustrative embodiment, a premium class seating arrangement for an aircraft cabin includes at least three passenger suites, each passenger suite including a seat movable between an upright position and a horizontal bed position and an ottoman which expands a surface area of the bed position. The passenger suites may cooperatively form a nested arrangement capable of nesting with identical passenger suite arrangements longitudinally within the cabin area. At least two of the ottomans of the passenger suites may be longitudinally offset in installation position. Each passenger suite in the arrangement is afforded direct aisle access without interference by another passenger suite.

Seat assembly for a cabin of a means of transportation

The invention relates to a seat assembly for a cabin of a means of transportation, having an aisle which is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the cabin, two mutually spaced cabin walls which are oriented parallel to the aisle at least in some regions and laterally delimit the cabin, two outer passenger seat regions which are separated from one another by the aisle and each of which adjoins one of the two cabin walls, wherein the outer passenger seat regions have at least one row of seats with a respective inner first seat module which faces the aisle, a central second seat module adjoining the first module, and an outer third seat module adjoining the respective cabin wall. Each of the seat modules has a seat and an ottoman paired with the seat or a foot rest at a distance from the respective seat, and the third seat module is offset to the second seat module in the longitudinal direction such that the seat of the third

Space-Optimizing Seating Arrangements for Passenger Transport and Methods Therefor

In illustrative embodiments, apparatus and associated methods relate to an aircraft cabin with an elevated zone along a centerline, and a main deck with passenger seating space located under the elevated zone. In an illustrative example, the elevated zone may include an elevated walkway between, for example, one or more cabins on either lateral side of the walkway. Access between the elevated zone and the main cabin may be via a stairway oriented, for example, along the longitudinal axis of the aircraft. The elevated zone may be advantageously retrofit or provided as original equipment that may increase passenger density, for example, and may further provide for enhanced amenities.
