The stationary portion structural member, the disconnect panel, the separable modular portion structural member, and the electrical wiring consolidation device form a quick connect structure for coupling the separable modular portion with the stationary portion.

At least one control unit is connected to the switching circuit, and a near-field communication reading device is connected to the control unit for wireless reception of near-field communication signals from an external near-field communication sending device. The communication reading device can receive signals from a predetermined group of predetermined near-field communication signals. The number of predetermined signals in the group equals the number of aircraft seats in the grouping and each of the predetermined near-field communication signals is associated with another of the aircraft seats of the grouping. The control unit activates the voltage supply port by the switching circuit only upon receiving one of the predetermined signals, which port is associated with the aircraft seat associated with the received predetermined near-field communication signal.

Each magnetic element interacts with the non-contact sensor such that the embedded magnetic element causes the non-contact sensor (106a) to switch between a first state and the second state, depending on the orientation of the second structure (226) with respect to the first structure (222). The sensor can detect whether the second passenger seat structure is positioned in a stowed configuration or a deployed configuration.
