A rotorcraft seating assembly includes a seat base supporting a seat bucket, the seat base having left- and right-side panel portions. Each side panel portion has a linear bucket guide channel set into its inside face (including an upper portion for adjusting the seat bucket relative to the seat base for pilots of varying heights, and a lower portion for energy attenuation (EA) stroking in response to a crash event) and a bucket guide slot set into its outside face (including a linear upper portion corresponding to the range of adjustment of the seat bucket and a curved lower portion allowing the seat bucket to translate forward and away from the seat base during EA stroking). The curved outer bucket guide slot allows for the required EA stroking distance within a minimal vertical space between the seat bucket and the flight deck floor.

Copper or silver wires are embedded into the plastic at the time or molding to provide both structural reinforcement and anti-microbial properties. At the time of molding, copper or silver wires are disposed in a plastic mold prior to plastic application to ensure the metallic wires are generally disposed toward the surface of the molded part.

SEAT BACK

A seat back for an aircraft seat includes a first side wall, a second side wall and a support wall for supporting a passenger leaning against the seat back. The first side wall and the second side wall each include a front edge and a rear edge. At least part of the support wall is positioned adjacent the front edge of the first side wall and the second side wall. The first side wall and the second side wall each include an aperture for receiving a bolt and the support wall includes one or more shaped surfaces to allow (i) insertion of a bolt through the aperture in each of the side walls from a position which is between the first and second side walls and in front of the shaped surface, and (ii) adjustment of the or each bolt from the front of the seat back.

A seat sub-assembly (210, 220, 230) can include a frame (214, 224, 234) and a foam support (212, 222, 232). The foam support (212, 222, 232) can be coupled to the frame (214, 224, 234) for receiving a load on the seat sub-assembly (210, 220, 230), dissipating at least half of the load, and dispersing the load through the frame (214, 224, 234).

In embodiments, the upholstery cover retention assembly includes an upholstered article including an upholstered surface, a bezel including a bezel lip proximate to the upholstered article, and a retention flange disposed on a peripheral surface of the upholstered article. In embodiments, the upholstery cover retention assembly further includes a dress cover assembly including a dress cover configured to at least partially cover the upholstered surface of the upholstered article, and an assembled edge configured to be disposed within a groove formed between the peripheral surface of the upholstered article and the bezel. In embodiments, assembled edge is configured to be secured within the groove by engaging a lower engagement surface of the retention flange and a lower surface of the bezel lip with the assembled edge.
