Method and arrangement for programmable periodic increase in the standard legroom provided in airline passenger seating for additional passenger safety and comfort
The present invention describes an arrangement and method for Programmable, Periodic, Substantial increase in the standard leg room provided in Airline seating for a planned limited duration, this is achieved by having the standard airline chair rows being mounted on specially designed sliding base assembly fixed on to the aircraft cabin floor, which allows the seat rows to be moved in a fore and aft directions in relation to each other in a programmable periodic manner by Hydraulic means and in a sequential manner covering all seat rows with the condition that at all times and under no circumstances the standard leg room already provided is reduced or compromised for any of the seats, thereby serving the express purpose of giving periodic relief from discomfort, mental and physical stress to airline passengers on long duration flights now being seated in compact rows with. absolute minimum leg room.
AIRCRAFT SEATING MODULE
An aircraft seating module (20) includes a seating mount (26) having a horizontal mounting rail (28) integrally joined to a vertical mounting post (30) at an adjoining elbow (32). The rail (28) includes a mounting boss (34) longitudinally spaced from the post (30) for attachment to an aircraft cabin seat track (18). Both the rail (28) and post (30) include mounting holes (38) for attaching a passenger seat (22) and appended furniture (24) directly to the seating mount (26) and in turn indirectly to the seat track (18) in the cabin floor (12).
SEATING SYSTEMS FOR AIRCRAFT AND METHODS OF ARRANGING SEATING SYSTEMS
The seating systems comprise a seat module and a seat track assembly comprising a plurality of seat-receiving regions, a seat track, and an electrical distribution system. The electrical distribution system comprises a plurality of track electrical contacts disposed along the seat track in the seat-receiving regions. The seat module comprises a base coupler configured to couple with the seat track at any seat-receiving region and a seat module electrical system having a seat electrical contact. The base coupler and the seat track are configured to position the seat electrical contact in connection with the track electrical contact of any seat-receiving region to which the base coupler is coupled. The methods comprise coupling the base coupler to a seat-receiving region, which comprises forming a connection between the seat electrical contact and the respective track electrical contact of the seat-receiving region, and providing electricity to the seat module via the electrical connection.
Tracking base assembly for aircraft seat
A tracking base assembly for an aircraft seat includes base rails mounted to floor tracks in an aircraft cabin by floor track fittings in fixed positions, the base rails connected by a tracking member for providing longitudinal tracking while minimizing added height. The base rails include tracking slots extending longitudinally, and the tracking member includes tracking elements translatable forward and backward along the tracking slots, allowing an aircraft seat mounted to the tracking member to translate forward from a retracted configuration into an extended or berthing configuration (and backward to the retracted configuration). The tracking member includes a locking mechanism for locking the tracking member and seat in intermediate positions within the tracking slots. The tracking slots may be oriented slightly downward from the horizontal to allow for gravity-assisted tracking or to counteract the nose-up flight angles associated with cruising altitude, providing for easier seat tracking.
Aeromedical Ambulance Equipment and Methods
The invention provides aeromedical ambulance equipment. In some embodiments, the equipment includes a module base comprising a mount assembly having an unlocked configuration and a locked configuration. The mount assembly preferably can be adjusted between the unlocked and locked configurations by a tool-free operation. In addition, certain embodiments provide a module base having an advantageous system for releasably locking a stretcher onto the module base.
Wedged clamping device and method for aircraft seat frame
A device for securing passenger seat frame structures (e.g., seat spreaders, legs) to a lateral crossbeam includes a wedged clamping device insertable into a pocket directly adjacent to a passage allowing the crossbeam to pass through the seat frame structure. The wedged clamping device has an upper face providing a locking taper angle and a lower arcuate face opposite the upper face and in contact with the crossbeam. When inserted into the pocket, the wedged clamping device provides a clamping force securing the seat frame structure to the crossbeam without driving a bolt through, deforming, or otherwise compromising the integrity of the crossbeam. The wedged clamping device accepts a tuning bolt through a lateral face; tightening the tuning bolt can more precisely control the amount of clamping force provided on the crossbeam.
CARGO HANDLING SYSTEM
An in-floor adapter for a cargo deck of a cargo handling system may comprise: a plate extending from a proximal end to a distal end; a pocket disposed in the plate, the pocket having a sidewall and a bottom wall; a fitting disposed in the pocket, the fitting configured to mount a leg of a seat; and a slot disposed through the plate, the slot configured to guide an attachment mechanism during installation of the in-floor adapter in the cargo deck.
SEAT UNIT PROVIDED WITH A TUBULAR SEAT-BASE STRUCTURE
The invention relates to a seat unit, in particular for an aircraft cabin, comprising: a seat provided with seat cushion and backrest kinematics, and a seat-base structure on which the seat is mounted, the seat-base structure comprising a frame with a tubular structure comprising: a first lower tube and a second lower tube, the first lower tube and the second lower tube each carrying at least one bolt intended to be fastened to rails, and two fastening feet for fastening the seat cushion and backrest kinematics, a fastening foot being formed by a tube connected by one of its ends to the first lower tube of the frame and by its other end to the second lower tube of the frame.
Seat unit structure, seat unit, and attachment method thereof
An object of the present invention is to provide a seat unit structure, a seat unit, and an attachment method thereof in which component reinstallation does not arise when the seat unit is attached in an aircraft. One representative seat unit structure according to the present invention relates to a seat unit structure configured to support a seat, wherein the structure has a lower structure having a monocoque structure and defines an outermost shell in at least one direction of the seat unit. That is, the member mounted in the one direction of the seat unit can be stored inside the outermost shell of the structure. In addition, the one direction is the width direction of the airframe.
MANUAL TRACK FITTINGS
A track fitting for securing a structure to an open-top channeled track may include at least one leaf having a flange portion that depends at an angle from a levering portion, and at least one fastener for connecting the levering portion to the structure, wherein in a secured condition, the flange portion is oriented for engagement with an underside of at least one of the two inwardly directed lips and the levering portion extends outside the open-top channel where the fastener secures the levering portion to the structure.
