An anti-icing protection system for an aircraft engine nacelle, the nacelle comprising an inner shroud, an air intake lip forming a leading edge of the nacelle, the protection system comprising a heat exchanger device including at least one heat pipe configured to transfer heat emitted by a heat source to the inner shroud.

AIRCRAFT NACELLE INLET

An aircraft nacelle air inlet comprising: a lip skin defining a curved surface of the inlet, the curved surface extending about a longitudinal axis of the inlet; a forward bulkhead; an inner barrel having a radially inner surface defining a surface of the inlet, a radially outer surface, and a sound attenuating layer arranged between the radially inner and radially outer surfaces; and a joining frame fixed to the lip skin and/or to the forward bulkhead. A first portion of the joining frame extends over at least a portion of the sound attenuating layer of the inner barrel and is fixed to the radially outer surface of the inner barrel.

A low drag surface is provided for a fluid washed object, the low drag surface comprising an aerodynamic surface comprising a cut-out region, and a continuously translatable surface comprising a surface portion. The surface portion is positioned in the cut-out region such that the aerodynamic surface and the surface portion form a fluidwash surface, and the surface portion is translatable relative to the aerodynamic surface.

COMPOSITE AEROSTRUCTURE WITH INTEGRATED HEATING ELEMENT
20230182906 · 2023-06-15 ·

A heated composite structure and a method for forming a heated composite structure. The structure includes carbon fibers embedded within a thermoplastic matrix. The carbon fibers are connected with first and second electrodes that are configured to be connected with an electric source such that applying current to the electrodes causes current to flow through the embedded carbon fibers to provide resistive heating sufficient to heat the composite structure to impede formation of ice on the composite structure.

Thermal management system
11674438 · 2023-06-13 · ·

A method for thermal management for an aircraft includes extracting a flow of compressed fluid from a compressor section of a propulsion system. The flow of compressed fluid is passed through an anti-ice system. The flow of compressed fluid flows from the anti-ice system to a turbine. The flow of compressed fluid is expanded across the turbine. The expanded flow of compressed fluid then flows to thermal communication with a thermal load.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREVENTING ICE FORMATION ON PORTIONS OF AN AIRCRAFT

An ice prevention system is configured to prevent ice from forming and/or melt ice with respect to one or more portions of an aircraft. The ice prevention system includes a combustor having an air inlet and a gas outlet. A supply air conduit is coupled to the air inlet of the combustor. The supply air conduit is configured to channel low pressure air to the combustor. One or more delivery conduits are coupled to the gas outlet of the combustor. The delivery conduit(s) are configured to be coupled to the one or more portions of the aircraft. The combustor is configured to exhaust heated gas to the delivery conduit(s) through the gas outlet to prevent ice from forming with respect to the portion(s) of the aircraft.

Directed Flow Nozzle Swirl Enhancer

An apparatus for improving heat transfer through a leading portion of an aircraft engine. The apparatus includes an annular channel that is defined by the leading portion. A source for gas that is fluidly connected to the channel and a narrow region that is defined within the annular channel.
