AIR SUPPLY PLENUM
An air supply plenum for an engine, the plenum being disposed upstream of an air intake of the engine, the air intake being provided in a casing of the engine. The air supply plenum includes a first lateral wall and a second lateral wall which together form a conduit in which an air flow flows as the engine functions. Each lateral wall includes a step which forms a transverse recess relative to the direction of the air flow in the air supply plenum, such that an aerodynamic separation occurs in the step when the engine is operating.
INLET PARTICLE SEPARATOR FOR A TURBINE ENGINE
A method and apparatus for separating particles from an inlet airflow of a turbine engine has a centerbody with at least one radially outward scavenge conduit. The inlet airflow has entrained particulate matter, which can impact an impact surface defining part of the centerbody. The particulate matter is radially diverted outward through at least one inlet to a scavenge conduit, unable to make a turn defined by the shape of the centerbody.
Inertial particle separator for turbine engine
An inertial particle separator (IPS) for a gas turbine engine, has: a plenum circumferentially extending about a central axis and defined between an outer wall and an inner wall, the plenum having an inlet facing a circumferential direction relative to the central axis, a radius of the outer wall decreasing in an axial direction relative to the central axis between the inlet and an annular splitter extending circumferentially around the central axis and located downstream of the inlet radially between the outer wall and the inner wall, a particle outlet including an annulus radially between the outer wall and the splitter, an air outlet fluidly connectable to a compressor of the gas turbine engine and defined radially between the splitter and the inner wall.
GAS TURBINE ENGINE WITH INERTIAL PARTICLE SEPARATOR
An inertial particle separator (IPS) has: a main duct having an inlet fluidly connected to an environment outside of the aircraft engine, the main duct having a first segment and a second segment, the first segment extending longitudinally away from the inlet and vertically toward an elbow, the second segment extending vertically and longitudinally away from the elbow, the main duct having a concave side and a convex side; two inlet ducts extending from the concave side of the main duct, the two inlet ducts extending laterally away from one another and vertically away from the elbow; and a bypass duct communicating with the main duct, an intersection between the bypass duct and the main duct defining a splitter, the bypass duct extending along the longitudinal direction and laterally between the two inlet ducts, the two inlet ducts and the bypass duct extending vertically away from one another.
Unmanned Helicopter
The present invention discloses an unmanned helicopter, and belongs to the technical field of unmanned aerial vehicles. The unmanned helicopter includes an air inlet system, an exhaust system, a cooling system and a dynamic balance system. The air inlet system is fixed on a second side; the exhaust system is fixed on a third side; and the cooling system is fixed on a first side, and the dynamic balance system is fixed on a tail. The airflow at the outside of the unmanned helicopter flows into the air inlet system smoothly, quickly and efficiently under the action of its own flow velocity relative to the unmanned helicopter, therefore the technical problem in the prior art that the air entering the fuselage with a unit volume is burnt insufficiently, which generates adverse effects on the normal flight of the unmanned helicopter, is solved.
Multi-stage inlet particle separator for rotary engines
A particle separator system for a turbine engine having an engine inlet. The particle separator system includes an inlet particle separator located within the engine inlet and configured to remove particles from an incoming airflow. The particle separator system also includes a barrier filter located within an enclosure of the turbine engine downstream of the inlet particle separator, the barrier filter being configured to intercept particles not scavenged by the inlet particle separator.
AIR INTAKE FOR TURBOPROP ENGINE
An air intake for efficiently channeling a flow of ambient air toward an air inlet of a turboprop or turboshaft gas turbine engine is disclosed. The air intake comprises an intake inlet for receiving the flow of air, an intake duct for channelling the flow of air, and an intake outlet for discharging the flow of air toward the air inlet of the gas turbine engine. The intake duct may be oriented toward a flow direction of the air pushed aft by a propeller coupled to the gas turbine engine.
AIR INTAKE WITH SCROLL PORTION AND STRUTTED PORTION FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE
An air intake for efficiently channeling a flow of ambient air toward an air inlet of a turboprop or turboshaft gas turbine engine is disclosed. The air intake comprises an intake inlet for receiving the flow of air, an intake duct for channelling the flow of air, and an intake outlet for discharging the flow of air toward the air inlet of the gas turbine engine. The air intake may comprise a scroll portion and a strutted portion configured to receive the flow of air from the intake duct and channel the flow of air toward the intake outlet. The strutted portion may comprise one or more vanes for interacting with the flow of air. The intake duct may be oriented toward a flow direction of the air pushed aft by a propeller coupled to the gas turbine engine.
Internally Heated Engine Inlet Screen for Aircraft Engines
An apparatus for providing foreign object debris protection and anti-icing capabilities to an air intake of an aircraft engine. The apparatus includes a frame having at least a portion configured to conduct fluids. A tube is positioned such that different portions of the frame are fluidly connected. There is a discharge outlet defined within the frame that is configured to discharge fluids from the frame into the air intake. An inlet is defined within the frame and is fluidly connected to a compressor section of the aircraft engine. In this manner, air from the compressor section of the aircraft engine can flow through the inlet, through the tube, and through the discharge outlet, to return to the compressor section of the aircraft engine.
VEHICLE PROVIDED, AT THE INTAKE, WITH AN AIR FILTER AND CORRESPONDING AIR FILTER
A vehicle provided with an engine, at least one air intake through which the engine takes in the external air needed to operate, and an air filter, which is arranged downstream of the air intake. The air filter presents: one wave-shaped filtering material panel comprising a single and unique fabric layer which is made up of a plurality of weft wires and a plurality of warp wires interlaced with one another to form a plurality of meshes; an outer reinforcement net, which rests against an outer surface of the filtering material panel, through which the air taken in enters so as to flow through said filtering material panel; and an inner reinforcement net, which is rests against an inner surface of the filtering material panel opposite the outer surface. The warp wires and the weft wires which make up the fabric of the filtering material panel are made of polymeric material, and the fabric meshes of the filtering material panel have a micrometric size comprised between 15 and 75 microns.
