SHOE BASED BOWLING APPARATUS
A shoe based bowling apparatus that includes: a bracket member having a concave shape to receive therein and remain in contact with at least one third of a circumference of a bowling ball; and a tongue member including a first end bent upward at an angle of approximately 90 degrees from a center portion thereof, the first end extending from a center of the bracket member, and a second end bent upward at an angle sufficient to rest along a length of a tongue of a shoe while the first end remains extending away from a surface in which the shoes rests, the second end being connected to a front end of the shoe.
Systems and Methods for Illustrating the Flight of a Projectile
A system for illustrating the flight of a sports ball includes a radar, an imager, and a controller. The imager is configured to image a moving sports ball. The controller is configured to (i) receive, from the imager, an image including the moving sports ball, (ii) receive, from the radar, radar data associated with the moving sports ball, (iii) determine, from the radar data, a portion of a trajectory of the moving sports ball, (iv) alter the image to illustrate the portion of the trajectory relative to the moving sports ball, and (v) output the altered image.
Systems and methods for coordinating radar data and image data to track a flight of a projectile
A system for coordinating radar data and image data to track a flight of a projectile includes a radar, an imager, and a controller. The imager provides an image of an area into which a projectile is to be launched. The controller receives the image and an identification of a target within the image and identifies a target line connecting the target and a launch position of the projectile. The controller also receives data from the radar relative to at least a portion of a trajectory of the projectile, generates image based trajectory data by correlating the radar data and the image, and alters the image to include the image based trajectory data within the image and the target line within the image.
Negative Poisson's Ratio Materials For Sporting Goods
In an aspect, a sports ball includes a core including a negative Poisson's ratio (NPR) foam material, in which the core has a Poisson's ratio of between 0 and 1, and in which the NPR foam material includes an NPR polymer foam; and a cover layer surrounding the core. In an aspect, a golf club includes an elongated shaft; a grip disposed at a first end of the elongated shaft; and a head connected to a second end of the elongated shaft, the head having a flat face configured for contact with a golf ball, in which the flat face is formed of a negative Poisson's ratio (NPR) foam material, in which the head has a Poisson's ratio of between 0 and 1, and in which the NPR foam material includes an NPR metal foam, an NPR ceramic foam, or an NPR-PPR composite foam.
Golf club or other ball striking device having stiffened face portion
A ball striking device, such as a golf club head, has a head that includes a face configured for striking a ball and a body connected to the face, the body being adapted for connection of a shaft proximate a heel thereof. The face has a thickened portion including an annular tapered area that tapers in thickness between an upper boundary and a lower boundary and encloses an elevated area bounded by the upper boundary. The upper and/or lower boundary defines a shape having two lobes, each with an outer edge with a convex profile, and a connecting portion extending between the lobes, such that the connecting portion is defined by two outer edges extending between the outer edges of the lobes, wherein at least one of the outer edges of the connecting portion has a concave outer profile.
Firearm having tactile biofeedback reference feature
A firearm that provides a user with tactile biofeedback. The firearm includes a tactile reference feature that extends longitudinally along an exterior body surface and is formed with dimensions specifically tailored to harness the user's natural attributes of sensibility, proprioception, and neuromuscular memory to improve a user's accuracy.
SPORTS MATCH REFEREEING SYSTEM
A system for refereeing a sports match including a portable processing device for compiling data associated with the sports match and eyeglasses including data display means for displaying the data associated with the sports match to a wearer of the eyeglasses.
Ball rotation indicator and method
The present application is directed to an athletic training tool. The athletic training tool includes a ball and an elongated member attached thereto, the elongated member is attached to the ball in a manner effective to maintain the center of gravity of the ball. The elongated member may be visually observable during use of the athletic training tool.
Sports training ball having embossed design
A sports training ball is disclosed that is made up of a shell having an embossed design that defines an enclosure having an interior volume substantially occupied by a filler that includes a mixture of a first material, a second material, and a third material.
Contoured terrain-conforming stance guide with foot opening
A generally U- or oval shaped flexible plastic stance guide lies flat on terrain, regardless of terrain contour, and defines a central opening for placement of a foot on the terrain. Gently sloped leading and trailing edges with an arcuate or planar median between the leading and trailing edges provide a palpable low-profile periphery around the opening. Parallel and perpendicular guide markings facilitate positioning and orienting the guide and a foot for a particular task. The bottom may be textured with spikes to enhance frictional engagement.
