Spacecraft systems and methods
Embodiments provide a spacecraft airlock system. Embodiments provide a method and apparatus for attaching space exposed payloads to a space station.
HELICAL FLOW FILTER
A filter includes a filter outer wall, and a filter inner wall spaced apart from the filter outer wall. The filter inner wall and the filter outer wall define a filter void therebetween, and the filter inner wall and the filter outer wall extend along a filter axis. A volume of filtration material is positioned in the filter void, and a plurality of baffles extend between the filter inner wall and the filter outer wall. The plurality of baffles are configured to induce a helical component to an airflow entering the filter void at a first void end relative to the filter axis and exiting the filter void at a second void end opposite the first void end.

Dosing pump
A dosing pump according to an exemplary aspect of this disclosure includes, among other things, a first chamber having an outlet fluidly coupled to a mixing area, and a second chamber having an outlet fluidly coupled to the mixing area. The dosing pump further includes a piston moveable between a suction position and a discharge position. The piston has a first head portion moveable within the first chamber, and a second head portion moveable with the second chamber. Further, movement of the piston from the suction position to the discharge position discharges fluid from the first and second chambers into the mixing area.
Dosing pump
A dosing pump according to an exemplary aspect of this disclosure includes, among other things, a first chamber having an outlet fluidly coupled to a mixing area, and a second chamber having an outlet fluidly coupled to the mixing area. The dosing pump further includes a piston moveable between a suction position and a discharge position. The piston has a first head portion moveable within the first chamber, and a second head portion moveable with the second chamber. Further, movement of the piston from the suction position to the discharge position discharges fluid from the first and second chambers into the mixing area.
Spacecraft systems airlock for international space station access and interface and methods of operation
Embodiments provide a spacecraft airlock system. Embodiments provide a method and apparatus for attaching space exposed payloads to a space station. The spacecraft airlock system provides a defined volume of space payload to the international space station. The airlock further includes a means of attaching to a space station, a closed structure attached to said means, said means of attaching is capable of robotic manipulation, and a cooling system for cooling payload components within said closed structure.
Electro Oxidation Membrane Evaporator
Electro oxidation membrane evaporator 1 comprises sweep air handler 60; fluid tank 20 defining a fluid container; fluid contactor/separator 30; oxidation cell 40; and scrubber 80. Electro oxidation membrane evaporator 1 may allow higher percent water recovery from wastewater prior to delivering brine to a brine water recovery system and can allow O.sub.2 from air such as cabin air to continuously diffuse into the wastewater as O.sub.2 is consumed to generate oxidants, helping to eliminate the low oxidant environment at the end of the cycle that causes pH to remain high, and low pH prevents precipitates from forming for longer so more water can be evaporated from the wastewater.
Living atmosphere control system
A living atmosphere control system is provided with a primary living area, a green cell containing plants consisting of Boston fern, aloe vera, areca palm, peace lily, and garden mums, at least one inlet configured for transporting oxygen from said green cell into said living area, and at least one outlet configured to transport carbon dioxide from said living area to said dehumidifying coils.
Living atmosphere control system
A living atmosphere control system is provided with a primary living area, a green cell containing plants consisting of Boston fern, aloe vera, areca palm, peace lily, and garden mums, at least one inlet configured for transporting oxygen from said green cell into said living area, and at least one outlet configured to transport carbon dioxide from said living area to said dehumidifying coils.
SPACECRAFT MULTIFUNCTION CONNECTING MECHANISMS, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Spacecraft multifunction connecting mechanisms, and associated systems and methods are described herein. A representative spacecraft system includes a connecting device, which in turn includes a housing having a common port opening, a first connecting element carried by the housing and positioned to connect with a corresponding first spacecraft connecting structure having a first configuration, and a second connecting element carried by the housing and positioned to connect with a corresponding second spacecraft connecting structure having a second configuration different than the first configuration. At least one of the first and second connecting elements is moveable relative to the other between an operational position and a non-operational position, and each of the first and second connecting elements, when connected to the corresponding first or second spacecraft connecting structure, is positioned to allow transport through the common port opening.
