DISPENSERLESS MULTI-SATELLITE LAUNCH CONFIGURATION WITH SIMPLE ADAPTER INTERFACE
Technology is disclosed for a dispenserless multi-satellite launch configuration in which multiple satellites are interconnected to form a composite beam structure that provides stability independently of the launch vehicle. When in the launch configuration, the satellites are formed into a bundle, where each satellite connects by one or more simple connector along the edges of its inner facing vertical side to the satellite adjacent on each side. This composite beam structure provides a stable launch configuration independently of the launch vehicle. Each of the satellites also has one or more connectors along the bottom edge of the inner facing vertical side allowing the bundle to be attached to a ring type launch vehicle interface. Once launched, the satellites can be dispensed by releasing the connector.
Device for sensing and capturing a space object, including a pressure element and at least two reclosable elements
A device for capturing a space object, the device comprising a pressure element configured to come into direct mechanical contact with the space object to be captured. The device comprises at least two reclosable elements movable between an open position for capturing the space object and a closed position for retaining the space object. The device also comprises an apparatus to mechanically transmit movement from the pressure element to each reclosable element, the mechanical transmission apparatus being configured to entrain each reclosable element in displacement between the open position and the closed position by pressure of the space object on the pressure element.

Solar, electronic, RF radiator for a self-contained structure for space application array
An array of antenna assemblies each generate solar power and utilize the generated solar power at that antenna assembly, which enables large amounts of power to be generated. An antenna assembly having a flat antenna layer forming a first outer surface of said antenna assembly, a flat solar layer forming a second outer surface of said antenna assembly, and a flat structural layer having a flat support structure sandwiched between the antenna layer and the solar layer. The antenna layer has a flat antenna plate with one or more antennas at the first outer surface of the antenna assembly to communicate with Earth. The solar layer has a flat solar plate with one or more solar cells at the second outer surface of the antenna assembly to receive solar energy and generate power.
SEPARATION DEVICE
A separation device includes: an outer case; a pillar-shaped separation member including an engaging portion; a support member including a swinging portion and an engageable portion, the swinging portion being swingably supported by the outer case, the engageable portion supporting the separation member; an inner case including a fitting hole restricting swinging of the support member; and an operation-enabling element, which supports the inner case and which is fusion-cut when an electric current is applied thereto. When the operation-enabling element is fusion-cut, the inner case is displaced, such that: the engageable portion of the support member detaches from the fitting hole; the swinging portion swings; and the engageable portion moves away from the engaging portion to release the separation member.

ENCLOSURES FOR FACILITATING ACTIVITIES IN SPACE, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Enclosures for facilitating activities in space, and associated systems and methods, are disclosed. A representative system includes a spacecraft having an enclosed interior volume (which can be formed by an inflatable membrane) and one or more unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) carried by the spacecraft and positioned to deploy into the enclosed interior volume. The system can include a remote-control system to control the one or more UAVs from a terrestrial location while the spacecraft is in space. A wireless charging system can provide electrical power to the one or more UAVs. A representative method includes configuring one or more controllers to launch a first spacecraft to a first orbit, launch a second spacecraft to a second orbit, move the first spacecraft to the second orbit, dock the first spacecraft with the second spacecraft, and broadcast an event within an interior volume of the first spacecraft to a terrestrial location.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING, STORING, AND PROCESSING MATERIALS IN SPACE
Systems and methods for transferring, storing, and/or processing materials, such as fuel or propellant, in space, are disclosed. A representative system includes a flexible container that is changeable between a stowed configuration in which the flexible container is contained within a satellite, and a deployed configuration in which the flexible container extends away from the satellite. The system can include a tanker with a storage container to dock with and refuel a satellite. Another representative system includes a controller programmed with instructions that position a spacecraft with a storage container in a first orbit, transfer the spacecraft to a second orbit, dock the spacecraft with a satellite in the second orbit, transfer material between the storage container and the satellite, undock the spacecraft from the satellite, and, optionally, return the spacecraft to the first orbit. An androgynous coupling system with mechanical and fluid connectors facilitates docking and material transfer.
END EFFECTORS WITH MULTI-AXIS ROLLER WHEELS, SYSTEMS INCLUDING THE SAME, AND RELATED METHODS
End effectors and systems may capture, release, and/or create a mating engagement between the end effector and a target object. Said end effectors are tolerant of positional and rotational misalignment of the target object, and include a plurality of roller wheels, one or more of which is arranged in a non-parallel plane with respect to one or more other roller wheels. A first roller wheel configured to rotate in a first plane, a second roller wheel configured to rotate in a second plane, and a third roller wheel configured to rotate in a third plane may be arranged such that the end effector is configured to engage a passive receptacle of the target object, to capture the target object. Rotating the roller wheels in the opposite direction may cause the target object to be released or launched, by urging the passive receptacle off of or away from the roller wheels.
SYSTEM FOR SEPARATING SEPARABLE SPACECRAFT AND SHUTTLE ELEMENTS
A separation system for separable elements of spacecraft and launchers includes an upper ring, a lower ring and a band with an inner channel which houses slidable clamps, which are applied against the upper ring and the lower ring that form the connection interface between the two separable elements. A device joins/separates the ends of the band, both the upper ring and the lower ring including an outer protruding element with a wedged section to be lodged in the clamps. The upper ring also has an inner protruding element with a wedged section that matches a channel shaped section in the lower ring, the lower ring also has an outer portion including the outer protruding element with a wedged section and the channel shaped section, the outer portion protruding from a main part of the lower ring and being spaced from it creating a groove.
