Provided are a network selection method and an apparatus for integrated cellular and drone-cell networks, where the method includes: acquiring a dynamic network model and a dynamic user model, generating a random event vector according to the dynamic network model and the dynamic user model; generating an action vector according to the random event vector; obtaining an individual utility of each user according to the action vector and the random event vector; constructing a first selection model; obtaining the value of the action probability according the first selection model to determine networks that the users choose to access according to the value of the action probability.

AUTOMATED INDIVIDUAL SECURITY THROUGH A WEARABLE AERIAL DEVICE

A controller monitors for an activation condition through a monitoring interface of a wearable aerial device. In response to detecting the activation condition through the monitoring interface, the controller triggers the wearable aerial device to release from an aesthetic attachment proximate to a user and hover a distance above the user of a height above a selected height threshold. The controller analyzes a recording of content by the wearable aerial device to assess a particular threat level associated with the content from among multiple threat levels. The controller, in response to the particular threat level exceeding a threat threshold, automatically sends a communication to one or more emergency contacts.

REMOTELESS CONTROL OF DRONE BEHAVIOR

A drone system is configured to capture an audio stream that includes voice commands from an operator, to process the audio stream for identification of the voice commands, and to perform operations based on the identified voice commands. The drone system can identify a particular voice stream in the audio stream as an operator voice, and perform the command recognition with respect to the operator voice to the exclusion of other voice streams present in the audio stream. The drone can include a directional camera that is automatically and continuously focused on the operator to capture a video stream usable in disambiguation of different voice streams captured by the drone.

AIRBORNE RF-HEAD SYSTEM
20240063891 · 2024-02-22 · ·

An airborne RF-head platform system and method. Here, much of the computational burden of transmitting and receiving wireless RF waveforms is shifted from the airborne platform to a ground baseband unit (BBU). The airborne platform, which will often be a high-altitude balloon or drone type platform, generally comprises one or more remote radio heads, configured with antennas, A/D and D/A converters, frequency converters, RF amplifiers, and the like. The airborne platform communicates with the ground baseband units either directly via a laser communications link, or indirectly through another airborne relay platform. The airborne RF-head communicates via various wireless protocols to various user equipment such as smartphones by using the BBU and the laser communications link to precisely control the function of the airborne A/D and D/A converters and antennas. This system reduces the power needs, weight, and cost of the airborne platform, and also improves operational flexibility.

Techniques for using an aerial vehicle to provide a data service are provided. For example, information about a request for the data service is accessed. The request is sent to a provider computing device and identifies a user computing device to receive the data service. The provider computing device is configured to provide the data service. A location associated with providing the data service is determined based on the request. The aerial vehicle is flown to the location. The aerial vehicle includes a computing system configured to provide a portion of the data service. Based on detecting that the aerial vehicle is within a range of the location, the aerial vehicle provides the portion of the data service to the user computing device by using, for example, the computing system.

The present disclosure generally discloses a vehicle marking capability configured to support marking of vehicles in a vehicle management system. The vehicle marking capability is configured to support marking of vehicles in a graphical user interface (GUI) that is supported by a vehicle management application that is supported by the vehicle management system. The vehicle marking capability may be configured to support marking of various vehicle measures of vehicles for various vehicle types which may be managed by the vehicle management system. The vehicle marking capability may be configured to support marking of vehicle measures for vehicles using measure objects having lengths that are based on the vehicle measures (e.g., using linear scaling, logarithmic scaling, or the like). The vehicle marking capability may be configured to support marking of vehicle altitudes for aerial vehicles using altitude columns having column heights that are based on the vehicle altitudes.

PORTABLE BALLOON LAUNCH RIG

A portable launch rig (PLR) may include a support structure including two side supports defining an interior space for lifting and filling a balloon envelope of a balloon. Wheels on each of the side supports enable the PLR to be moved in various directions in order to prepare the PLR for launching the balloon. The side supports are connected by a lateral support beam having a pair of cranes arranged thereon. Each crane has an arm arranged over the interior space that is connected to a spreader beam. The spreader beam includes a lift assembly configured to lift and inflate the balloon envelope within the interior space. The PLR includes a platform and perch for supporting and moving the balloon envelope. A door assembly of the PLR includes a plurality of hangar doors configured to block wind from a respective direction of each hangar door entering the interior space.
