AUTOMATIC DETECTION AND QUANTIFICATION OF SWIMMING
A wearable device for tracking swim activities of a user is provided. The wearable device may include one or more sensors configured to generate sensor data, and based on the sensor data, the wearable device may determine swim metrics such as swim stroke count, swim stroke type, swim lap count, and swim speed. The determined swim metrics may be filtered based on one or more swim periods during which the user is likely to have been swimming. The wearable device may determine such swim periods based on the sensor data and/or the determined swim metrics.
Starting platform with integrated backstroke anchor ledge
A swimming starting platform having a base supporting a tread surface and an anchor ledge for supporting swimmers. The base includes a shaft extending through an interior cavity of the base from a first side panel to a second side panel. An adjustment mechanism is coupled to an end of the shaft and positioned along the first side panel, where the adjustment mechanism is actuatable to rotate the shaft and adjust a position of the anchor ledge relative to the base of the starting platform.
Adaptable exercise system and method of use
An adaptable exercise system enables the portable and adaptable placement of exercise equipment that can be adjusted to suit the intended exercises to be performed. The system provides a cross bar and legs that can be used in water, sand, gravel, sod or any location. The legs are height adjustable and allow for a variety of configuration and thus exercises.
SURFING INSTALLATION
The invention relates to a surfing installation (10, 10A, 10B) for generating a surfable wave (60), comprising an inclined ramp (50) to the upper end (51) of which water flows via a water inlet (46), which water is accelerated on the ramp (50) to a first flow speed, the lower end (52) of the ramp (50) leading into a region (30) having a lower second flow speed relative to the first flow speed, and a standing wave, in the flow direction, forming in the region (30) as a result of the water flowing at the first, faster flow speed striking the water flowing at the second, lower flow speed. A further functional area for the surfing installation (10) for one or more surfers (80) is achieved, according to the invention, in that at least two walls (506, 508) that define at least one flow channel (504) are arranged in the region of the water inlet (46) and/or of the ramp (50), which walls are movable in rotation and/or in translation, transversely to the flow direction of the water, by means of at least one drive (5046), in order to generate at least one traveling wave (60) that travels transversely to the flow direction.
TETHERED RESISTANCE SWIM TRAINING APPARATUS WITH SMART PULLEY
The present invention is a tethered resistance swim training apparatus with a pulley that includes an electronic tachometer to measure the rotations of the wheel of the pulley and strain gauge to measure the force pulling on the body of the pulley. The pulley, also referred to as “smart pulley”, can be implemented in many tethered swim training apparatuses of different arrangements. With the tachometer and strain gauge the power and other performance metrics can be calculated while a swimmer is using the apparatus. A load cell or similar can be used in place of a strain gauge. The sensors may be connected via wired or wireless communications to a computer (tablet, laptop, personal computer, server, or the like) for processing of the signals and display on an electronic display.
Aquatic exercise device for full-body workout and method of use
An aquatic exercise device and method of use are described herein. The aquatic exercise device provides for a full body, low impact, and decompressing workout that is unattainable by any existing product on the market. The aquatic exercise device features a buoy, a fastening mechanism, a user attachment mechanism, and a bridge connecting the buoy, the fastening mechanism, and the user attachment mechanism.
FLOATING PHYSICAL THERAPY DEVICE
A floating physical therapy device includes a frame and a harness. The frame includes an inner frame and an outer frame on the right and left side. The inner frame defines a patient area. The harness is attached to the inner frame such that it secures a patient to the device in a substantially upright position during use. The frame extends forwards and backwards, as well as to the left and right, of the patient area in order to provide stability in the water during normal use. The frame defines a trainer area immediately forward of the patient area where a therapist can have access to the patient during therapy sessions.
Group swimming device
An apparatus and method for swim training are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a cable is secure to a starting block or other fixed object at or near the edge of a pool, and the cable is then extended into the pool. The cable includes, along its length, fixed securement points to which multiple swimmers may be secured, via belts worn by the swimmers, to the cable. Because the swimmers are secured to fixed positions along the cable, multiple swimmers may swim in the same lane without interfering with each other. In another embodiment, the cable may be secured at both ends of the pool.
Aquatic exercise system
An aquatic exercise system may include a water tank including a watertight entrance that may allow a user enter and exit the water tank. The aquatic exercise system may further include a vertical watertight gate that may be disposed within the water tank and divide an interior of the water tank into a first tank portion and a second tank portion, a treadmill assembly that may be disposed within the second tank portion, and a water circulation mechanism that may be connected in fluid communication with the first tank portion and the second tank portion and transfer the water between the first tank portion and the second tank portion.
