System for handling sterilization of thin body flexible containers (pouch)
10588990 · 2020-03-17 · ·

A system handles the sterilization of thin-body, pouch-type, flexible containers (1) and provides for applying sacrificial closures (200) to the pouches. The system loads the provisional closed pouches to be sterilized on a transport device (300) for collective transport, to perform the sterilization of the transport device (300) carrying the provisional closed pouches. The system separates in a sterile chamber, the sacrificial closures (200) from the pouches, performing filling and applying an inviolable cap (100).

Flexible container with fitment and process for producing same

A flexible container is provided. The flexible container includes four panels. The four panels form (i) a body portion; (ii) a neck portion, and a flare portion that extends from the neck portion; (iii) a tapered transition portion between the body portion and the neck portion; and (iv) the neck portion has a reduced width. The flare portion has an expanded end. The width of the flare portion gradually increases from the neck portion to the expanded end.

Sanitary fill head

A filler head apparatus 20 for hygienically filling and emptying containers 22 through a fitment 24 incorporated with the container 22 includes a cylindrical outer housing 30 for receiving a hollow bore inner cylinder 32 which is actuated to simultaneously reciprocate and rotate about a central axis 33 within the outer housing. A transfer tube assembly 34 is mounted to the inner cylinder 32 to travel with the inner cylinder between an extended position engaged with the fitment 24 and a retracted position disengage from the fitment. When the transfer tube assembly is engaged with the fitment, flowable content or product may be transferred to or from the container 22. A fitment cap assembly 36 is also mounted to the inner cylinder 22 to travel with the inner cylinder to remove the cap 38 of the fitment 24 prior to either filling or emptying the container 22, and then to retract to a standby position while the container is filled/emptied, and thereafter replacing the fitment cap after filling/emptying has been completed.

Application Device and Method for Applying Additional Elements in an Application Direction
20200047935 · 2020-02-13 ·

Described and depicted is an application device for applying additional elements, in particular straws, to packages, preferably cardboard composite packages, having at least one transport device for transporting the packages along a transport track and having at least one application apparatus comprising at least one applicator for applying the additional elements to the package, wherein the applicator is provided on the application apparatus to be adjustable from a pick-up position for picking up the additional elements to an application position for applying the additional elements to the packages and back. So that less constructive and technical effort relating to the method is required for the application of the additional elements in different orientations, it is provided that the at least one application apparatus, as a result of an adjustment, in particular of the applicator, overlapping with the adjustment of the applicator from the pick-up position to the application position, is designed for picking up the additional elements in a pick-up orientation in space by the applicator and for applying the additional elements in an application orientation inclined from the pick-up orientation in space by the applicator.

Convenience kits for aseptic sterilizing and dispensing

A convenience kit for sterilizing and delivering liquids into the safety of a sterile environment inside a plastic bag (which can be disposed in a field environment) wherein a so sterilized liquid is dispensed into a vessel which is capped and sealed before removal from the bag. The convenience kit can be provided in a solitary format or, as a subkit combined with other associated items in a more inclusive convenience kit. In short, convenience kits made according to the present invention provide opportunity for accomplishing an aseptic liquid sterilizing transfer, a task which is commonly associated with on-hand capability of a laminar flow hood, in field environments and other areas which are remote from facilities having laminar flow hoods.

Spout-Connector Assembly (ECHO)

Disclosed are devices and methods for dispensing flowable material. A dispensing assembly may include a spout defining an internal surface and a passage therethrough, the spout having a first receptacle defined on the interior surface; a first slider insertable into the spout, the first slider having an external surface that defines a first locking ridge configured to releasably engage with the first receptacle; and a second slider insertable into the first slider. The first slider may be configured to move within the spout and be configured to have a first configuration and a second configuration different from the first configuration.

Automated liquid dispensing device and associated method

The present invention is an automated liquid dispenser comprising novel mechanisms for removing a single container from a nested stack of containers, closing the bottom of the container, decapping the container, filling the container, capping the container, and dispensing the filled container to a user.

Method for loading a 3D flexible pouch to be filled, system for loading and storing this flexible pouch and associated support device

A support device (20), mounted on an upper edge of a container (3), includes lifting elements that define a support surface (22) which extends transversely outwards from an inner edge (55). The upper end (2b) of a flexible pouch for biopharmaceutical product can rest on this support surface, the rest of the 3D-type pouch extending into the container. The slot (23) which separates the support surface into two portions defines a guide path for a flexible supply line (9a, 9b) for the pouch (2) that is connected at its bottom to the end (2b). A convex surface is formed at the rear end of the slot and above the edge of the container, so as to guide and facilitate the passage of the line (9a) into the housing, when the filling state is sufficiently advanced. The causes of poor deployment of the pouch are thus minimized, without human intervention.

Methods and apparatus for processing fluids

A method for processing a fluid includes removably securing a retention member to a vessel that bounds a chamber; inserting a collapsible bag within the chamber of the vessel; securing the bag to the retention member so that the bag is supported within the chamber of the vessel; and dispensing a fluid into a compartment of the collapsible bag supported within the chamber of the vessel. The fluid can be mixed within bag while the bag is disposed within the vessel.
