Tabletop apparatus for filling and sealing drinking straws with honey or other viscous liquids using centrifugal force
11419315 · 2022-08-23 ·

The Title of this invention is Tabletop Apparatus for Filling and Sealing Drinking Straws with Honey or Other Viscous Liquids Using Centrifugal Force. This is an apparatus for filling and sealing the ends of drinking straws (or other small round reservoirs) with viscous liquids such as honey, syrup, sauces, and oils. The filled straws will hold about 5 ml of liquid and can be used for samples or snacks. The apparatus is designed in such a manner that particles under 4 mm can also be included in the straws. Examples of such inclusions are poppy seeds, pollen grains, apple bits, sesame seeds, and other. The inclusions are generally edible items. Using a specially designed holder and an impulse sealer the straws are then sealed several at a time on one end only before being inserted into the apparatus. After filling, the second end is sealed using the same method.

Packaging and docking system for non-contact chemical dispensing

A chemical dispensing system can include a docking stating that receives a reservoir containing chemical to be dispensed. The reservoir may have one or more retention tabs which are movable from a first position in which each tab extends radially across at least a portion of the bore to a second position in which each tab is offset relative to the bore. A user can engage the reservoir with the docking station, causing the one or more retention tabs on the reservoir to engage with one or more corresponding retention tab receiving regions. This can cause each retention tab to move from the first position to the second position, thereby dispensing chemical from the bore through a discharge aperture of the docking station. In this way, the contents of the reservoir may be dispensed without the user coming into physical content with the chemical in the reservoir.

Shapeable food seasoning

A food kit may include a food item, a shaped food seasoning product, and a container. In some examples, the shaped food seasoning product defines a three-dimensional shape and includes a binder material binding the shaped food seasoning product together to define the three-dimensional shape and seasoning. The seasoning may form greater than 20 weight percent of the shaped food seasoning product. The container may enclose the food item and the shaped food seasoning product so that the food item and the shaped food seasoning product are contained inside the container. During use, a consumer may transfer the contents of the food kit to a cooking container and add liquid to the container, causing the shaped food seasoning product to dissolve and release the seasoning bound in the seasoning product.

Foaming and fill level control through stretch rod

Methods and systems for simultaneously forming and filling a container from a preform with fluid, adjusting a fill point of the fluid, and removing air and/or foam from within the container. One of the methods includes injecting fluid from a fill source into the preform through a nozzle passage defined between the nozzle and a seal pin of the forming and filling system to simultaneously form the container from the preform and fill the container. After the container is formed and filled, the seal pin is actuated to close the nozzle passage and prevent fluid and air from exiting the container through the nozzle passage, thereby trapping fluid and air within the container under pressure. Air, fluid, and/or foam is extracted out from within the container through a passageway defined within a stretch rod to adjust a fill point of the container.
