The indexing mechanism is configured to move the web of interconnected bags along a path of travel. The opening arrangement is configured to open a bag such that an opening is formed in the bag and a product can be placed into the opening of the bag. The pair of engagement devices are configured to engage the bag and close the opening of the bag. Each engagement device includes a base member, a first link, a second link, a sliding pivot member, and a finger. The first link is pivotably connected to the base member, and the second link is pivotably connected to the first link. The sliding pivot member is configured to allow the second link to slide through the sliding pivot member and pivot in relation to the base member. The finger is connected to the second link. The pair of engagement devices are configured to pull a first side and a second side of the bag in opposite directions. The sealing arrangement is configured to seal the opening of the bag.

Pack to pouch systems

A method includes separating a portion of a flattened tube of stock packing material to a custom length to form a pouch pre-form and closing a first end of the pouch pre-form leaving a second end of the pouch pre-form open. The method can include placing product into the pouch pre-form and closing the one open end of the pouch pre-form to form a closed pouch containing the product.

MACHINE AND METHODS FOR FORMING, ERECTING, AND LOADING A POUCH WITH A PRODUCT

A transport mechanism for engaging a pouch in an erect configuration at a first station of a packaging machine and transferring the pouch to a second station of the packaging machine includes a carriage and a grip assembly. The carriage is moveable between the first station and the second station. The grip assembly is coupled to the carriage and is at least partially moveable relative to the carriage between an engaged position for clamping the pouch in the erect configuration within the grip assembly, and a released position.

Provided is a film-packaged tissue assembly package in which an outlet forming portion is not unintentionally broken. The problem is solved by a film-packaged tissue assembly package in which a plurality of substantially hexahedron-shaped film-packaged tissues having an upper surface having an outlet forming portion are arranged and packaged in a gusset packaging bag having a grip portion on the top surface side, wherein a plurality of film-packaged tissues are arranged in a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape in such a manner that the end surfaces face the top surface side where the grip portion is provided, and a bottom surface side facing the top surface side, and the film-packaged tissue is packaged in such a manner that the outlet forming portion has a shape in which an easily tearable line having cut portions and non-cut portions arranged alternately protrude toward the outside, the interval between non-cut portions at one end portion is smaller than the interval between non-cut portions at the other end portion, and the side where the end portion with a smaller interval between non-cut portions is located on the top surface side.

Process for making pouches having strong transverse shrinkage
11618602 · 2023-04-04 ·

A process for making a shrink pouch having strong shrink tension in the pouch transverse direction and minimal or no shrink tension in the pouch longitudinal direction is provided. The process includes the steps of reinflating and cold-stretch orienting a previously collapsed blown film and feeding the cold-stretch oriented blown film in a flattened configuration into a side-fed pouch making machine, whereupon the longitudinal direction of the blown film becomes the transverse direction of the pouches thus formed, and vice versa. A shrink pouch having strong transverse shrink tension and little or no longitudinal shrink tension is also provided.

Automated packaging station and system for packaging objects

An automated packaging station is capable of being used to package objects. The automated packaging station includes a supply of web material, a surface (202), an aperture (206) therein, and a closing system.
