Adhering modular elements for packaging structures
In response to a request to package item(s), embodiments determine characteristic data for the item(s), which include an indication of a volume of each item. Container(s) for packaging the item(s) is determined based at least on the volume of each item. An arrangement of the item(s) in the container(s) is determined. One or more protective structures including one or more features are configured to position the item(s) in the container(s) according to the arrangement. Relative positions are determined for a plurality of modular elements to form the one or more protective structures. Subsets of the plurality of modular elements are deposited to corresponding relative positions to form at least one of the protective structures. The item(s) are packaged in the container(s) with the one or more protective structures to position the item(s) in the container(s) in the arrangement.
DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR FEEDING ARTICLES TO BE PACKAGED
A device and a process for feeding articles to be packaged with a packaging apparatus are presented. The articles are transported on a first conveying line and can be arranged according to a desired pattern, which is repeated on a second conveying line from which the articles will be picked up in a subsequent station. For this purpose, at least one transfer device is provided for transferring the articles from the first conveying line to the second conveying line, with a self-moving transfer arm and a respective gripping device to pick up the articles. The gripping device has a plurality of gripping elements which are movable between a first configuration, in which the gripping elements are aligned with each other to grip the articles from the first conveying line, and a second configuration, in which at least two of the gripping elements are staggered with respect to each other, to lay the articles according to a predetermined pattern.
PACKAGING PROCESS, PACKAGING APPARATUS AND RELATED CONTROL SYSTEM
A packaging process, apparatus and control system for articles to be packaged in box-shaped packagings are presented. The flow of box-shaped packagings and the flow of articles are efficiently managed, avoiding an excessive discarding of the box-shaped packagings during the process. Articles and open box-shaped packagings are conveyed in a continuous flow. Packaging compliance with the instructions related to the box-shaped packagings and article compliance with instructions related to the deposit of the articles are verified. Upon verification of the packaging compliance, the articles are transferred to the box-shaped packagings. In case of lack of packaging compliance, the flow of articles is suspended. In case of lack of article compliance, the articles to be transferred are moved to a buffer.
On-demand protective structures for packaging items in a container
Example methods and systems are disclosed for on-demand packaging of one or more items. According to one example, a method can include receiving an order for the item(s) and determining characteristic-information for the item(s) using a computer system. The characteristic-information includes an indication of at least a size and a shape of the item(s). The method also includes processing the characteristic-information based on design criteria to determine an arrangement of the item(s) within at least one container volume, and a configuration for a protective structure to hold the item(s) in the arrangement within the container volume(s). The method can further include, in response to the processing the characteristic-information, forming the protective structure according to the configuration, placing the item(s) into the protective structure according to the arrangement, and placing the protective structure and the item(s) in the container volume(s).
PACKAGING DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR ARTICLES TO BE PACKAGED
A packaging device and a process for packaging articles arranged according to a predetermined pattern and supplied on a conveyor line are presented, where buffers for the preparation of layers to be packaged are eliminated, while maintaining a high degree of flexibility for a wide range of formats. The packaging device includes one or more transfer devices that pick up the articles and deposit them in layers. The transfer devices have a handling member connected to a respective gripping device, both movable along three orthogonal axes. Each gripping device has gripping elements to pick up an article from the conveyor line. The gripping elements are arranged to form, on each gripping device, a single layer of articles. Each layer is obtained with one or more pickings from the conveyor line, in order to place the articles in a single operation in a respective container of the flow.
Apparatus and method for maintaining a pattern of non-rigid objects in a desired position and orientation
An apparatus and method for maintaining a pattern of non-rigid objects in a desired position and orientation. The first surface, second surface, and third surface are mutually orthogonal and meet at a point to form a lowest corner. The second and third surfaces are supported by, attached to and extend at least somewhat vertically from the apparatus. The first surface is oriented at an angle to a plane running through a bottom of the apparatus and thereby provides the lowest corner.
A method and an apparatus for dispensing drugs and/or vitamins into dispensing units
“The invention relates to a method for dispensing drugs and/or vitamins to dispensing units, in which method one or more dispensing units are placed onto a drug dispensing tray. In the method according to the invention, the drugs and/or vitamins are dispensed into the dispensing units by a robot having an arm or a corresponding movable means, whose tip is equipped with a dispensing device for feeding drugs and/or vitamins in relation to it, the robot moving the dispensing device in relation to the drug dispensing tray for dispensing drugs into the dispensing units. The invention also relates to an apparatus for dispensing drugs and/or vitamins into dispensing units.”
Method and apparatus for inserting packages into cartons
For the automatic insertion of packs (11) into a large-volume carton (10), two work tools are used, namely, a pack robot (33) with carton holder (30) for holding the cartons (10) ready and a pack robot (33) with head (37) for inserting the individual packs (11) one after another into the carton (10) in the region of a packing station (33). Through relative movement of carton (10) and pack (11), different pack formations are created within the carton (10).
Machine, process, container and packaging for packing tetrahedral-shaped products
A machine for packing tetrahedral products is disclosed which includes a conveyor belt driven in a first direction (F1) along a longitudinal direction (L), as well as a first handler suitable for grasping tetrahedral products carried the conveyor belt. The first handler has a handling head suitable for grasping a plurality of tetrahedral products arranged on the conveyor belt, in which one or more accumulators suitable for accumulating the tetrahedral products in a row are arranged along the conveyor belt. A rotating device is arranged along the conveyor belt before the accumulators for rotating a tetrahedral product with an orientation substantially opposite with respect to the preceding tetrahedral product on the same conveyor belt. The present invention also relates to a process which can be carried out by the machine, as well as a container and/or a packaging filled by means of such machine and/or process.
