System for forming an article array in a container
A head for use in forming an article array in a container cavity (“cavity”) by sequential placement of adjacent article rows in the cavity, including a gripper having a frame having a longitudinal axis, the gripper adapted to selectively engage and disengage an article row for permitting placement thereof; and a flexible layer connected to the frame and extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and positioned to one side of the gripper. During formation of the article array in the cavity, the flexible layer preventing contact between a most recently positioned article row in the cavity and a corresponding article row being positioned in the cavity, including filling a remaining unfilled portion of the cavity between a penultimate article row and the container for receiving the final article row having a width approximately equal to or less than a width of the final article row.
Feeding method and apparatus
A method and a feeding apparatus for feeding spacers for cigarette packs are disclosed, in which each spacer comprises a substantially rectangular flat body, the spacers being insertable in cartons for cigarette packs to space out packs with dimensions smaller than the standard dimensions; the spacers are stacked on a pallet that is positioned in a withdrawal station; the stacks of spacers are withdrawn from the withdrawal station and transferred to a respective hopper by passing each stack of spacers through an upper opening of the hopper, to then unload the spacers one by one through a lower opening of the hopper.
Article Transport Facility
A transfer device and a control device for controlling the transfer device are provided. The control device is configured to execute setting control to set a storing position, in a container, of each of a plurality of articles to be stored in the container, storage control to control the transfer device so as to store each of the articles at the storing position, and replacement control to replace one of a first holding portion and a second holding portion attached to the attachment portion with the other one. The setting control is control to set the storing position in accordance with an order of transferring the plurality of articles so as to sequentially place the articles from a reference position that is set at a position adjacent to a side wall portion.
METHOD AND ASSEMBLY FOR TRANSFERRING PRODUCTS
Products are loaded into receptacles by means of a transfer device, which comprises a plurality of pick-up heads, each of which picks up a product. The products are provided in a random arrangement in a pick-up area, and the position of each product is detected. To pick up the products, the transfer device is moved over the pick-up area and each pick-up head picks up an individual product at a pick-up time and in a pick-up position. The pick-up position and the pick-up time for the products are determined on the basis of the previously detected positions of the products. The placement of the products in a placement area also occurs preferably while the transfer device is moving relative to the receptacles.
Article Transfer Facility
An article transfer facility (100) includes a transfer device (3) that performs a first operation to take out an article (W) that are supported by a first container (C1), from the first container (C1), and a second operation to load the article (W) taken out from the first container (C1), onto a second container (C2); and an inclination device (5) that supports the second container (C2) at a predetermined position (P2), wherein the second container (C2) has a rectangular mounting surface (S) onto which the articles (W) are to be mounted, and is formed in a box shape with an open upper surface, and the inclination device (5) supports the second container (C2) in an inclined state such that a target corner portion (Sct) that is one of a plurality of corner portions (Sc) of the mounting surface (S) is located lower than the other corner portions (Sc).
MULTIFUNCTIONAL SYSTEM FOR ADAPTABLE HARVESTING
There is provided a system, installed on a vehicle or trailer, for performing an agricultural task. The system comprises a platform connecting to the vehicle or trailer and comprising a socket for an accessory. A plurality of accessories is provided, wherein one accessory is selected among them for installation in the accessory socket. A vision system is operatively connected to a computer and collects data of the environment about the accessory, the computer using the collected data to determine an instruction for performing the agricultural task and to send the instruction to the accessory installed in the accessory socket to perform the agricultural task. The accessory is interchangeable in the accessory socket depending on the agricultural task. The box handling stage and pallet mounting stage can be robotized for efficient automation.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HANDLING AND DISPENSING OF ITEMS
Embodiments of product handling systems facilitate transfer of individual product items from incoming bulk form into dedicated trays for inspection, sorting, selection, and packaging. Inspection may comprise interrogation of product items within a tray by electromagnetic (e.g., optical, hyperspectral) or other (e.g., physical, acoustic, gas sensing, etc.) techniques. Prior to packaging, product items disposed within the tray may be stored in a moveable carousel responsible for controlling environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, illumination, ambient gases, product-to-product interactions, and/or others. Movement of product items from a carousel's transfer station to an outside staging position may be accomplished using robots and/or conveyor belts. Embodiments may allow rapid, low-cost consumer selection of specific individual product items based upon their accompanying metadata (e.g., source, identifier), in combination with the results of inspection (e.g., visual appearance). Embodiments may receive product items pre-packaged in tray format to expedite inspection, sorting, selection, and packaging.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY BOXING PRODUCTS ON STICK
Described is an apparatus for automatically boxing products on stick including: a closed transport line, a plurality of units, each movable independently, along the transport line in a feed direction, each including a retaining system for retaining a product on stick, an unloading unit configured for picking up a predetermined number of products on stick from the units and boxing said predetermined number of products on stick, a control and return unit, positioned upstream relative to the unloading unit relative to the feed direction along the transport line, configured for controlling the presence of products on stick in the units moving along the forward guide, for selectively interrupting the movement of the units in the feed direction.

Systems and methods for automated custom shipping containers
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for automated custom shipping containers. In one embodiment, an example system may include a depth camera, a first robotic arm configured to grasp objects, a box making machine configured to generate boxes, and a computer system. The computer system may be configured to determine a depth map of a first object and a second object using the depth camera, determine a first dimension of the first object, determine a second dimension of the second object, and determine a first box dimension for a box in which the first object and the second object are to be placed using the first dimension and the second dimension. The computer system may be configured to cause the box making machine to produce the box, and cause the first robotic arm to place the first object and the second object into the box.
