Hockey Stick Blade and Shaft Constructs Using Boron

A sporting implement, such as a blade or shaft for a hockey stick, may include a boron-enhanced fiber material configured to increase the strength and reduce the weight of the structure. This boron-enhanced material may form all or a portion of the sporting implement.

Collapsible yoga block

A yoga block includes panels forming a quadrilateral tube and secured to one another by hinges such that the tube may be collapsed. Endcaps secure to ends of the quadrilateral tube and engage the quadrilateral tube to resist collapse when in place. Panels may define protrusions engaging recesses on edges of the endcaps. Magnets in the endcaps may engage the hinges to secure the endcaps in place. Rotating or sliding tabs may also be used to lock the endcaps. Inner surfaces of top and bottom panels may define grooves for receiving a weight plate. Endcaps may be secured to panels by hinges. The hinges securing panels or endcaps may be double hinges.

Exercise device having a linear arm portion

An exercise apparatus includes a linear arm portion having an elongate arm member with proximal and distal ends and an elongate support member having proximal and distal ends. The arm member can be slidably mounted to the support member by a sliding joint. A linear arm brake assembly can be coupled to the arm member for resisting linear motion of the arm member. A torso portion can be included to which the linear arm portion is rotatably mounted about a second axis by rotary shoulder joint. The linear arm portion can be configured, and the rotary shoulder joint can be positioned along the length of the support member at a location that substantially balances the linear arm portion about the rotary shoulder joint at least when the arm member is in the retracted position.
