Packaging apparatus and method
A method and apparatus are shown for securing a top for a cardboard carton where the carton has a bottom wall and integral sidewalls, an initially open interior and initially open top flaps with outwardly extending ears. The top flaps are folded to a carton closing position which closes off the initially open interior of the cardboard carton. The ears are also folded to a position in contact with the sidewalls of the carton. A set of punches are aligned with the folded ears of the carton and are actuated to force a first layer of cardboard from a respective top flap through an underlying region of the carton sidewall. A set of platens are located so as to underlie and reinforce the sidewalls of the carton as the punching operation takes place.

Packing box convertable from a shipping configuration to a display configuration
A packing box includes a separation line in a shipping configuration, the separation line allowing separating a separation part from the packing box to leave a display part in a display configuration. First to last panels are sequentially interconnected, and flaps are connected to the panels. The flaps cooperatively define further sides of the packing box in the shipping configuration, and adjacent flaps connected to adjacent mutually connected panels are attached to one another. The separation line extends through a single panel from a first end associated with a position between adjacent first separation and display flaps to a second end associated with a position between adjacent second separation and display flaps, the separation flaps being associated with the separation part and the display flaps being associated with the display part. The separation flaps, and the adjacent display flaps are attached to one another, respectively, in a releasable manner.

CORRUGATED CARDBOARD BOX MAKING DEVICE, BOX MAKING METHOD, AND BOX MAKING AND PROCESSING METHOD
A cardboard box production device includes: a stocker that holds a plurality of vertically stacked folded original boxes in a cardboard box having the top and bottom thereof open; a expansion provided upstream in a conveyance direction that is substantially orthogonal to the stacking direction of the original boxes, moving one side surface of an original box away from a first side on the stocker side towards a second side, and expanding the one side surface such that openings are formed at the top and bottom; a folding-in device that folds in the bottom of an open box opened upstream in the conveyance direction; a feeding device that feeds boxes from the upstream side in the conveyance direction to the downstream side; a conveyance belt; and an adhesion device that applies an adhesive tape to the bottom of the box in the conveyance area of the conveyance belt.
Method and apparatus used to close external cardboard packagings
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus (22) for closing the top side of external cardboard packagings (1). The external cardboard packagings (1) comprise two top closing flaps (3, 4) located opposite each other. Side edges (42) of the closing flaps (3, 4) are connected to each other via two fold-in flaps (5, 6). During closing, at least two external cardboard packagings (1) are positioned in a group (50) contiguous to each other or slightly spaced apart. At least two folding devices (23) are advanceable toward each other to engage the fold-in flaps (5, 6) of each of the at least two external cardboard packagings (1), thus pressing the fold-in flaps (5, 6) toward each other and folding them over their particular second fold edges (60) and third fold edges (7), thereby folding down the top closing flaps (3, 4).
