Shape profile measurement device, and shrink-packaging machine
A shape profile measurement device includes: a light projector and a light receiver arranged facing each other; a belt conveyor for conveying an object for measurement; and a calculation unit. The light projector includes a plurality of light-emitting portions arranged in an array direction, and each emits substantially parallel measurement light. The light receiver includes a plurality of light-receiving portions arranged in the array direction facing the plurality of light-emitting portions, and each receives the measurement light emitted from a corresponding light-emitting portion. The light-receiving portions output a signal indicating a light intensity of the received measurement light. The calculation unit acquires the signal of the light receiver when the object is at a plurality of different movement-direction positions between the light-emitting portions and the light-receiving portions, and obtains a shape profile on the basis of the signal acquired and information relating to the plurality of movement-direction positions.
Packaging method and apparatus
An apparatus for wrapping a stack of objects vertical side faces and a horizontal top face has a unit for wrapping a film wrapper around the stack such that respective sections of the wrapper extend upward from each of the side faces. A first welder welds ends the film wrapper together at one of the side faces of the stack. A fold-over device folding the film sections over onto the top face of the stack. A second welder welds the folded-over film sections together on the top face of the stack.

A packaging process includes providing a semi-sealed package containing a product to be packaged, providing a vacuum chamber, adjusting a spacing between members of the vacuum chamber to open the vacuum chamber, relatively positioning the package and the vacuum chamber such that a terminal portion of an end of the package is positioned within the vacuum chamber and a non-terminal portion of the end is positioned outside the vacuum chamber, an intermediate portion of the end passing through the opening, adjusting the spacing to bring the members substantially sealingly in contact with one another, the intermediate portion being received in the opening, creating, within the vacuum chamber, an internal vacuum pressure to determine a gas flow through the opening causing opposing layers of the film at the second end to maintain a substantially spaced-apart configuration, and to aspirate both gas from inside the package and gas through the opening.

The furniture wrapping system includes a film roll support configured to unroll a first film across a path of the furniture article in a first direction, such that the film roll support positions a film barrier across the path. The furniture wrapping system includes a conveyor mechanism configured to carry the furniture article along the path and into the barrier. The furniture wrapping system includes a sealer configured to extend across the path to form a seal such that the furniture article is partially enclosed in the first film.

Packaging Machine for Bedding Products
A packaging machine for packaging a product. The machine has a frame for supporting the product and a source of packaging material for supplying packaging material into a position to be engaged by and at least partially surround the product. At least one upper sealing assembly is adapted to move between an actuated position and a non-actuated position. The upper sealing assembly comprises at least one sealing element for forming a seal along adjacent edges of the packaging material. At least one lower sealing assembly is adapted for cooperating engagement with the upper sealing assembly in its actuated position. The at least one upper and lower sealing assemblies are positioned for clamping engagement of the packaging material therebetween for forming the seal when the upper sealing assembly is moved to its actuated position in engagement with the lower sealing assembly.

An exemplary embodiment of a cold seal package forming device (100) is provided, which may have a scoring device configured to score a continuous film laminate, the film laminate comprising a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive/PSA (36) disposed between a first film layer (37) and a second film layer (38); a stripping device configured to strip at least a portion of the second film layer (38) to expose the PSA (36); a forming device configured to form the film laminate into a package (30) having an interior; a feeding device configured to feed a product into the package interior; a sealing device (108, 142) configured to seal the product within the package interior via adherence of the exposed PSA (36) on a portion of a package periphery; and a separating device configured to singulate the package (30) from a continuous web of the film laminate.
PACKING MEMBER AND PACKING METHOD
A packing member includes a structure for accommodating an object-to-be-accommodated and a cylindrical sheet for covering the structure. The cylindrical sheet includes a first portion having a heat contraction property and includes a second portion having an elasticity higher than that of the first portion. The first portion has a display portion. The display portion is provided on a surface extending along a predetermined direction of the structure. Free end portions of the first portion and the second portion contract to surround an end surface of the structure crossing the predetermined direction of the structure.
