An inspection device is used in manufacture of a PTP sheet that comprises a container film including a pocket portion in which a content is placed and a cover film closing the pocket portion. The inspection device includes: an illumination device that emits near infrared light; a light shield that is placed between the illumination device and the container film and prevents the near infrared light from entering the container film; a through hole in the light shield that allows the near infrared light to pass through; a spectroscope that disperses reflected light from the content; an imaging device that images an optical spectrum of the reflected light and obtains spectroscopic image data; and a controller that: obtains spectral data of the content based on the spectroscopic image data; and performs a predetermined inspection with regard to the content based on the spectral data of the content.
System and method for filling a chambered package
A system for filling a chambered package includes a carrying mechanism travelling in a machine direction and having chambered recesses defined about a surface thereof, a first dispensing nozzle configured to dispense a quantity of a medium onto the surface of the carrying mechanism for direction into the chambered recesses in a first group of the chambered recesses defined about the surface of the carrying mechanism, and a first wiper blade disposed along the carrying mechanism in the machine direction after the first dispensing nozzle, the first wiper blade defining a curvilinear surface having crests configured to direct the quantity of the medium into the chambered recesses in the first group of the chambered recesses and troughs configured to direct the quantity of the medium away from entering the chambered recesses in the second group of the chambered recesses.

In an example embodiment, an apparatus for making pouch products includes a conveyor system. The conveyor system includes a first receiving location along a path of the conveyor system, and a dosing location along the path of the conveyor system. The apparatus also includes a first material dispensing station configured to transfer a first material to the first receiving location. The first material includes a first elastic layer and a first support layer. The first material dispensing station includes a dispenser roller configured to hold a roll of the first material, a plurality of rollers configured to convey the first material from the dispenser roller to the first receiving location, and a stripper plate configured remove at least a portion of the first support layer from a portion of the first elastic layer.

In an example embodiment, an apparatus for making pouch products includes a conveyor system. The first material dispensing station includes a dispenser roller configured to hold a roll of the first material, a plurality of rollers configured to convey the first material from the dispenser roller to the first receiving location, and a stripper plate configured remove at least a portion of the first support layer from a portion of the first elastic layer.

A thermoforming packaging machine comprises a film source, a forming station, a sealing station and a conveying device. The film source is configured to receive a lower film supply roll and provide a lower film web unwound from the lower film supply roll. The conveying device is configured to convey the lower film web from the film source to the forming station and further to the sealing station. The film source comprises a holding mandrel for receiving thereon the lower film supply roll and a film storage device configured for accommodating a variable length of the lower film web and regulating a film tension of the lower film web. The holding mandrel and the film storage device are arranged one above the other in a vertical direction.

Apparatus for forming product containing pouches from a travelling web of adhered films includes a film support surface, including a plurality of mold configurations, and a film retention chamber in the film support surface preceding and trailing each of the mold configurations. A vacuum system applies vacuum to the mold configurations and film retention chambers to form product containing pockets and to secure the film in the film retention chambers. Separation blades in synchronous register with the mold configurations separate the pouches from the travelling web. In one form the film support surface comprises a rotary forming drum and a rotary blade drum includes the separation blades.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR VACUUM SKIN PACKAGING OF A PRODUCT
A method and apparatus can be used for vacuum skin packaging of a product. The product can be arranged on a support comprising providing a film sheet above said support with said product being arranged between the support and the film sheet. The film sheet can be air tightly fixed to the support. The wall of the support can be perforated to form at least one through hole. At least a portion of air from within the support underneath said film sheet can be removed through the at least one hole. A packaged product is obtainable using the method and apparatus.
