Adjustable horizontal form-fill-seal devices and methods of using same
A first film can be conveyed through a horizontal form-fill-seal machine that contains tooling stations in which bottom sealer bars are positioned in different tooling stations relative to side sealer bars. The first film can be processed by the machine to form a first pouch. After the first pouch is formed, a vertical height of one or more of the side sealer bars and/or one or more of the bottom sealer bars can be selectively adjusted. The same bottom and side sealer bars remain in the machine during the selective adjusting of the vertical height. After the selective adjusting of the vertical height of the component, a second film can be conveyed through the horizontal form-fill-seal machine. The second film can be processed by the machine to form a second pouch having at least one dimension that is different than the first pouch.

END SEAL CARRIAGE VELOCITY DIFFERENTIAL
A form-fill-seal system includes a tube feeding system, an end seal carriage (420), and a computing device. The tube feeding system feeds a tube (410) of flexible material at a first velocity (v1). The computing device controls the end seal carriage (420) to cause an increase in a velocity of the end seal carriage to substantially the first velocity (v1), a start of a dwell time of the end seal mechanism (424, 422) on the tube (410) of flexible material while the velocity of the end seal carriage is at substantially the first velocity (v1), and an increase in the velocity of the end seal carriage to a second velocity (v2) during the dwell time. The end seal mechanism cuts a package (440) from the tube during the dwell time. The increase in the velocity of the end seal carriage to the second velocity (v2) results in an increased distance of the package from the tube.

Method and arrangement for portion-packing of an oral pouched snuff product
The present invention relates to a method for portion-packing of an oral pouched snuff product (1′, 1″). The method comprises a) supplying and advancing a tubular web (19, 19′, 19″) of packaging material enveloping a continuous feed (23, 23′, 23a″, 23b″) of filling material in a direction of travel (L), b) forming transverse seals (39) in the tubular web across the continuous feed of filling material by means of ultrasonic welding, the transverse seals extending in a transverse direction (T) being perpendicular to the direction of travel. The present invention further relates to an arrangement (17, 17′, 17″) for portion-packing of an oral pouched snuff product.

MEASUREMENT CONTROL DEVICE, PACKAGING DEVICE AND MEASUREMENT CONTROL METHOD
The present invention is to provide a measurement control device. A sensor unit 1 disposed at least in the horizontal direction perpendicular to the traveling direction in which the article G to be packaged is conveyed, and a pressing member detection unit D for detecting an article conveyance pressing member P mounted on the packaging device are connected to the measurement control device main body 2, and the measurement control device is provided with an acquisition signal stopping unit which stops acquisition of signals from the sensor unit 1 when the pressing member detection unit D detects the pressing member P, and a signal acquisition restarting unit which restarts acquisition of signals from the sensor unit 1 when the pressing member detection unit D does not detect the pressing member P.
NONWOVEN POUCH COMPRISING HEAT SEALABLE BINDER FIBER
A pouched product adapted for release of a water-soluble component therefrom is provided herein. The pouched product can include an outer water-permeable pouch defining a cavity containing a composition that includes a water-soluble component capable of being released through the water-permeable pouch and has a surface area, wherein the outer water-permeable pouch can include a nonwoven web including a plurality of heat sealable binder fibers blended with a second plurality of dissimilar fibers. The nonwoven web can be carded, hydroentangled and point bonded.
