Web alignment device, a packaging machine having a web alignment device and a splicing method
There is described a web alignment device for aligning a web comprising an engagement surface for supporting the web, a clamp assembly for clamping the web on at least a clamp portion of the engagement surface, an alignment control assembly for controlling a correct alignment of the web. The alignment control assembly comprises a control unit for generating a trigger signal if the web is correctly aligned, a first sensor device for detecting and/or determining a desired position of a first section of the web and to send at least a first signal to the control unit if the first section is positioned in the desired position, and a second sensor device for detecting and/or determining a desired position of a second section of the web and to send a second signal to the control unit if the second section is positioned in the desired position.
RESEALABLE BAG WITH INELASTIC DEFORMABLE POLYMER
The resealable bag has a main body including a resealing layer. The resealable bag is selectively positionable between an open, unsealed position and a closed, sealed position. When the resealable bag is in the closed, sealed position, the resealing layer is in a deformed shape. Advantageously, the resealable bag can be repeatedly rolled and sealed, and unrolled and unsealed, as desired without the use of additional integrated or non-integrated sealing mechanisms.
Sterile packaging of fluent materials
Described herein is a method of forming individual tubes or sachets containing fluent material, and a packaging machine for doing so, are described. The side of the foil which will be in contact with the fluent material when the package is formed is exposed to plasma in mist or aerosol form as the tube or sachet is formed from a strip of laminate material (1), which is folded about a former (2) into a closed tube or sachet which passes over the open end of a dispensing tube (3) from which the fluent material is dispensed. A mist of plasma is injected into the interior of the material tube as it is formed, extracted from the area once it has passed over the interior walls of the laminate tube.

VERTICAL-FLOW WRAPPER AND METHOD TO PRODUCE A BAG
A vertical flow-wrapper that includes a form-fill-tube along which a film is transported in a transport direction and formed into a film tube; a longitudinal-sealing means, which seals two opposing longitudinal ends of the film tube together to form a longitudinal seal, the longitudinal-sealing means includes a seal jaw and a pair of guiding rollers provided upstream from the seal jaw to guide the two opposing longitudinal ends of the film tube through the seal jaw and pressing means to press the two opposing longitudinal ends of the film tube together; and a cross-sealing means and a cutting means which provide cross seals to each package and separate the packages from each other; an axis of rotation of the pair of guiding rollers are provided parallel to a transportation plane of the two opposing longitudinal ends of the formed film and not perpendicular to the transport direction.

Cut and seal method and apparatus
A fin sealer and method to seal a radially outwardly directed fin of a tubular web structure by directing the fin through a nip between a first and a second fin sealing rollers while communicating heat to the fin through at least one of the fin sealing rollers is provided. The fin sealer is configured to maintain a nominal face-to-face relation between an outer annulus of the first fin sealing roller and an outer annulus of the second fin sealing roller with a flexible connection between a hub element of the second fin sealing roller with the outer annulus of the second fin sealing roller.
A PACKAGING ASSEMBLY FOR FORMING AND SEALING A PLURALITY OF PACKS CONTAINING A POURABLE PRODUCT AND A METHOD FOR FORMING AND SEALING A PLURALITY OF PACKS
There is described a packaging assembly configured to form and seal a plurality of packs containing a pourable product starting from a tube of packaging material; the packaging assembly comprises: a pair of endless tracks between which the tube is fed along a straight advancement direction; and a pair of movable members, each one of which movably coupled to, and cyclically movable along, one respective track; each movable member movably carrying one respective forming member linearly movable towards said tube, transversally to said advancement direction, to cyclically cooperate in contact with successive tube portions, so as to form at least corresponding pack portions of respective packs; each forming member comprises a movable portion which is tiltable with respect to the advancement direction, to sequentially control a tilting of the tube portions with respect to said advancement direction.
