A self-lubricating tie-down includes a frame including two walls, a reel, two ratchet wheels, two detents, a short strap and a long strap. The frame includes two walls each of which is formed with a bushing. The handle includes two blades each of which is formed with an aperture. The reel includes two terminal sections inserted in the bushings. The two ratchet wheels are connected to the reel. The first detent is movable on the frame and operable for engagement with the ratchet wheels. The second detent is movable on the handle and operable for engagement with the ratchet wheels. The short strap includes an end connected to the frame. The long strap includes an end connected to the reel so that the reel is operable to wind the long strap. Each of the bushings includes at least one recess and lubricant filled in the recess.

Strapping device

A strapping device including a tensioner operable to apply a strap tension to a loop of wrapping strap, a friction welder operable to produce a friction weld connection at two areas of the loop of wrapping strap disposed one on top of the other, a motor operable in a first rotational direction to drive the tensioner and in a second opposite rotational direction to drive the friction welder, and a control device. The control device is configured to, in response to receiving a first designated input: (1) operate the motor in the first rotational direction to drive the tensioner until a predetermined strap tension is reached in the loop of wrapping strap; and (2) afterwards, automatically operate the motor in the second different rotational direction to drive the friction welder to produce the friction weld connection.

A strapping device including a tensioner operable to apply a strap tension to a loop of wrapping strap, a friction welder operable to produce a friction weld connection at two areas of the loop of wrapping strap disposed one on top of the other, a motor operable in a first rotational direction to drive the tensioner and in a second opposite rotational direction to drive the friction welder, and a control device. The control device is configured to, in response to receiving a first designated input: (1) operate the motor in the first rotational direction to drive the tensioner until a predetermined strap tension is reached in the loop of wrapping strap; and (2) afterwards, automatically operate the motor in the second different rotational direction to drive the friction welder to produce the friction weld connection.

According to another aspect, a strapping tool assembly includes one or more strapping tool subassemblies configured to perform one or more strapping operations; a power transfer subassembly operatively coupled to the one or more strapping tool subassemblies, the power transfer subassembly configured to transfer motive power from the external power source to the one or more strapping tool subassemblies; and a coupling member configured to couple the strapping tool assembly to the external power source.

Cable tie application tool

A cable tie application tool is described that includes an electro-mechanical tensioning system. When the electro-mechanical tensioning system is controlled by a processor to tighten a cable, a reactionary force through a drive nut that is pivotally mounted to a tension bar can be monitored and measured by a strain gauge, a load cell, or other sensing system. This reactionary force is an indication of tension on the cable tie and is monitored by the processor until the tension reaches a predetermined tension, at which point, the processor causes a motor in the tensioning system to stop increasing the tension on the cable tie. The processor activates a cut-off system to cut the cable tie that has been tightened to the predetermined tension.

A cable tie application tool is described that includes an electro-mechanical tensioning system. A control system controls operation of the tensioning assembly and the sealing assembly to operate the strapping tool in an automatic mode in which the tensioning assembly and the sealing assembly are sequentially actuated by a single action of the control system by an operator, and in a manual mode in which the tensioning assembly and the sealing assembly are sequentially actuated by multiple actions of the control system by the operator.
