Variable pitch starwheel for container carrier applicating machine
An applicating machine for applying a flexible carrier to a plurality of containers provided from an infeed includes an orienter for placing containers into a correct rotational position and a transfer device for transferring the oriented containers in a fixed rotational position to a jaw drum for applying a flexible carrier to a plurality of containers provided.
Method and Device for Attaching Carrying Handles to Packaging Means or Groups of Packaging Means
A handle applicator includes controller that receives signals concerning marks on an endless band. The controller controls a contact body to be between a release position, in which a handle applicator is freely driven and a drawing position, in which the contact body contacts the endless band of material prior to its being cut to form the handle. The contact body moves along a continuum of positions between the release position and the drawing position based on actual position data indicative of actual positions of position markings on the handle.
PACKAGING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PACKAGING UNITS
The invention relates to a packaging apparatus (1) and a method used to produce packaging units (35). The packaging units (35) comprise at least one article (30), in particular at least one beverage can (31), with at least one at least in some areas flatly designed packaging blank (20) arranged on the article (30) or beverage can (31). The packaging blank (20) has at least one passage opening (23) in the flatly designed area for the at least one article (30). The packaging apparatus (1) comprises at least one feeder device (2) for the at least one article (30) or for assemblies (40) of at least two articles (30); a pre-treatment module (9) to prepare the packaging blank (20) for the application to the at least one article (30); and a first packaging module (7) to apply and locate the packaging blank (20) to the at least one article (30). The pre-treatment module (9) comprises at least one device designed to reduce a resistance force in an edge area (24) of the passage openings (23) of the packaging blank (20) during the subsequent application of the packaging blank (20) to the at least one article (30).
Apparatus for applying a multi-can engagement collar to a group of beverage cans
An apparatus for applying an engagement collar to a group of articles, which includes an application area defining a horizontal support surface for receiving a group of articles, a horizontal press plate positioned above the support surface and mounted for vertical movement relative to the support surface, and an actuation assembly operatively connected to the press plate for moving the press plate relative to the support surface to apply an engagement collar to the group of articles positioned on the support surface within the application area, wherein the actuation assembly includes an actuation lever that is located below the press plate and in front of the application area to provide an ergonomic work environment.
Apparatus and method for constructing a package
Aspects of the disclosure relate to an apparatus and method of packaging one or more articles. The device being adapted to applying a plurality of top-engaging carriers to a plurality of groups of articles simultaneously. The device comprises a metering base for facilitating arranging a plurality of articles into groups of articles and an applicator for pressing top-engaging carriers onto groups of articles. The metering base comprises a spacer structure for maintaining a predetermined space between each group of articles and at least a next adjacent group of articles; and a first aligning feature. The applicator comprises an applicator plate having a plurality of receiving cavities each for receiving a top of an article and a second aligning feature for engaging the first aligning feature for sliding movement with each other.
Method and apparatus for producing a multipack with several beverage containers
An apparatus (1) for assembling several beverage containers (2) into a multipack (4) is disclosed. The apparatus (1) comprises a horizontal conveying device (5) for moving groupings (3), each grouping (3) comprising several beverage containers (2). The apparatus (1) also comprises at least one working device (25) that applies packaging blanks (41) to the groupings (3). The beverage containers (2) of a grouping (3) pass through openings in the packaging blank (41) and are held together by the packaging blank (41). The apparatus (1) furthermore comprises at least one handling apparatus (15) which places the beverage containers (2) on the horizontal conveying device (5) such that the beverage containers (2) are in alignment with respect to one another. The alignment of the beverage containers (2) allows the packaging blank (41) to be applied to the beverage containers (2) directly upon their placement on the horizontal conveying device (5).
Pawl assembly for a can carrier applicator apparatus
A pivotal pawl assembly for a can carrier applicator apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes spaced-apart and vertically disposed first and second support walls. The first and second support walls define a can passageway having a forward end and a rearward end. A vertically disposed spacer is vertically movably positioned at the forward end of the support walls with the lower end of the spacer being positioned above the lower ends of the support walls. The pawl assembly is positioned at the lower rearward end of the spacer. A plurality of stacked can carriers are positioned above the can passageway. A dispensing mechanism sequentially dispenses a can carrier which drops downwardly onto the cans. The pawl assembly not only limits the forward movement of the can carrier but also exerts downward force on the can carrier to seat the can carrier onto the cans moving through the can passageway.
Can guide system for a can carrier applicator apparatus
A can guide system for a can carrier applicator apparatus with the applicator having a can passageway formed therein which is defined by vertically disposed first and second support walls. A first can guide is mounted on the inner side of the first support wall and a second can guide is mounted on the inner side of the second support wall. Each of the can guides are movably mounted in a recess in the inner side of the respective support wall. Each of the can guides have a can stop formed on the forward ends thereof. Each of the can guides are pivotally movable between first and second positions. When in the first position, the can stops prevent cans from passing thereby. When in the second position, the can stops are not in the paths of the cans passing through the can passageway.
