DIRT REMOVAL AND PILING MACHINE
A dirt removal and piling machine is ideally suited for use in cleaning and piling individualized and non-uniformly shaped workpieces, preferably sugar beets but also potatoes, other tuber crops, and even with aggregate rocks for a tilting receiving station. A further aspect of the present machine includes a workpiece unloading or receiving station which can tip sideways after a dump truck unloads the workpieces and longitudinally drives therethrough. In another aspect, the machine also includes a cleaning station having rotatable rollers, an underlying dirt conveyor and a moveable dirt dumping conveyor, hopper or bucket adjacent an end of the dirt conveyor and external to the rollers. Furthermore, another aspect of the machine includes an automatic and/or robotic sampling arm which is operable to remove a tuber crop workpiece sample and automatically package the sample after the sample has moved through a cleaning station.

PACKAGING TRAY
A molded plastic tray adapted to receive a plastic overwrap film for preservation, secure handling and display of a perishable food product in the wrapped tray, such as fresh fruit or vegetables. The tray has a pair of central ribbing elements extending from opposing longitudinal side walls and into the bottom wall and is designed to provide structural rigidity that resists warping and collapse, thus enabling the overwrapped tray to be handled, shipped, and displayed with minimal leakage while preserving the food product therein. The tray is easy to manufacture and provides a lightweight and cost effective packaging product. The tray has a rectangular shape that provides for consistent wrapping strength and can be handled on standard processing equipment.

Packaging Container With Preformed Sealing Ring
A packaging container for holding contents such as fresh food. The container comprises a tray having a flange, a pre-formed sealing ring and a flexible film for sealing in the contents of the tray. The sealing ring is made from fiber, filament or tape (FFT) that is shaped into a shape that matches the shape of the tray flange. The sealing ring is adhered to the tray flange by heat welding or other means and the flexible film is adhered to the sealing ring.
HOLDING DEVICE FOR FOOD
A holding device for foods is configured to hold the foods that are self-standable and have a front surface and a rear surface parallel to the front surface. The device includes a first holding part configured to hold the foods lined up in a first direction in a standing state where the front surfaces face in the first direction. The first holding part includes a first support member configured to support the foods at one of the front surface of the food located at a front end when seen in the first direction and the rear surface of the food 40 located at a tail end when seen in the first direction, and a pair of holding members configured to pinch the foods from both sides in the first direction.
Electric pressure canner with digital control
A digital pressure canner and related methods of operation that provide for improved safety and consistency during a food canning process by reducing temperature over and undershoot. The digital pressure canner includes a digital control operating with inputs from digital sensors to accurately control the canning temperature during the canning process. By reducing over and undershoot of canning temperatures, foods within the pressure canner are maintained at temperatures sufficient to kill any bacteria or microorganisms for the entire canning cycle. In order to verify operation of the digital canner at sufficient canning temperatures, mechanical safety devices, for example, a pressure relief valve can be utilized in conjunction with digital controllers and sensors to provide audible and visual feedback to a user during the canning process.
PROCESS FOR MAINTAINING FRESHNESS OF VEGETABLE PIECES
A packaged food product and methods of making and using it. In some embodiments. The packaged food product may comprise a cup containing multiple ingredients in sealed pouches suitable for use in making an omelet or other egg-based entr?es, with the cup being suitable for microwave cooking of an egg-based entr?e. The ingredients may include vegetable components that offer organoleptic properties similar to those of fresh vegetables after an extended period of time. Ideally, time required for processing, shipment, storage, etc., which may be, e.g., several weeks, may pass without unacceptable degradation of taste, texture, mouth feel, flavor, aroma, color, nutritional content or other important qualities. In some embodiments, the ingredients may also include additional components, such as, for example, one or more meats, and/or one or more varieties of cheese.
MUSHROOM PACKING APPARATUS
A mushroom packing apparatus (10) comprises a conveyor (12) having a mushroom loading section (30) and an unloading end (42) for unloading the mushrooms into a container (16); a mushroom stem cutter (56): a movable support platform (14) for the container adjacent to the unloading end with weighing means (66) for determining the weight of the loaded mushrooms; the unloading end (42) being movable into a plurality of positions relative to the container; the movable support platform being movable such that a plurality of locations in the container are moved into a position proximate to the unloading end. The apparatus results in increased picking speed. It can load each till or box to the target weight, and fill tills when they are in lugs, so workers do not need to handle individual filled tills.
