Package assembly for forming beverage pods
A compact and lightweight personal pod making system is provided. The pod making system has a base for receiving a pod packaging material and a sealing tool pivotably connected to the base. The system can be used at home, in the office and even outdoors. A pod package assembly that can be used in conjunction with the personal pod making system is also provided. The pod package assembly can include a cup-like holder that is hingedly connected to a cover so that it is relatively easy for users to align the cover when sealing the pod.
Manufacturing process for producing hermetic single-use food containers such as coffee pods, including a creasing step
A manufacturing process for producing hermetic single-use food containers includes: forming a 3D container body having a peripheral upper rim by stamping a 2D blank in a press, the 2D blank including a rim portion and a wall portion; applying a closing lid over the 3D container body and sealing the closing lid with the rim. The manufacturing process is characterized in that it comprises a creasing step before forming the 3D container body, where creases are formed in a peripheral zone of the 2D blank by creasing or embossing the 2D blank with a creasing or embossing plate, the thus pre-creased peripheral zone covering at least a part of the rim portion of the 2D blank.
Packaging apparatus and method
Packaging apparatus comprises two counter-rotatable sealing dies for pressing together two tissue webs to produce pockets for containing a substance for preparing beverages and to seal around the pockets, and two heating drums for heating the sealing dies and each being positioned inside a respective sealing die, wherein a first heating zone of each heating drum comprises a first plurality of circumferentially distributed infrared heating elements, and a second heating zone of each heating drum comprises a second plurality of circumferentially distributed infrared heating elements.
Beverage pod for agglomerating material
The present disclosure is directed to single use beverage dispensing containers or pods that are used to make beverages from materials that may have limited solubility. Beverage pods of the present disclosure may be made to break open along a bottom surface of the pod when the pod is placed into a beverage making machine. When the beverage pod capsule comes into contact with a piercing element of a beverage making machine, thinner or embossed parts of the beverage pod may be stressed and crack open forming a breakaway opening that exceeds the diameter of a hole in the beverage machine's piercing element. A flow of liquid provided to a top of the beverage pod would mix with a beverage making material and the liquid and the material could escape the pod through the breakaway opening in the beverage pod.
APPARATUS FOR MAKING A PRODUCT, PREFERABLY A FOOD PRODUCT FOR MAKING A DRINK BY INFUSION IN A RESPECTIVE LIQUID
An apparatus for making a product, preferably a food product for making a drink by infusion in a respective liquid, preferably in water, especially in hot Water; the product being obtained from a raw material including or fonned by respective particles, in particular powder, granules, pieces or the like, for example of roasted and ground coffee; the apparatus includes supporting means for means for making respective products starting from a respective predetermined or measured portion of raw material, which making means include means for aggregating particles of the predetermined portion of raw material.
Beverage Brewing Material Support
A method of manufacturing a support element for beverage brewing material includes providing water-permeable material to form a concave holder configured to receive the material, with a rim formed around an upper periphery. The method can include providing the material with fold lines, forming the holder from a single piece of the material, and shaping the holder into an open state. Preparing a beverage includes unfolding the support element to form a receptacle, adding the brewing material to an interior, and providing a flow of fluid through the material. An empty container includes filter material formable as a receptacle having has a bottom and sidewalls with folds defining an interior, and a rim at a top edge. The receptacle has a circular cross-section and a diameter of between about 30 mm and about 50 mm and/or a depth of between about 1 mm and about 15 mm.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A CONTAINER FOR THE PREPARATION OF A BEVERAGE IN A BEVERAGE PREPARATION DEVICE, SEALING STATION FOR CARRYING OUT A SEALING STEP OF SAID PROCESS, AND A CONTAINER OBTAINED BY SAID PROCESS
The present invention concerns a process for producing a container for the preparation of a beverage in a beverage preparation device, wherein, in the final container obtained, at least 70% of the surface of a compacted beverage ingredient body (2) contained therein, is in contact with the container walls (3, 4).
PACKAGING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Packaging apparatus comprises two counter-rotatable sealing dies for pressing together two tissue webs to produce pockets for containing a substance for preparing beverages and to seal around said pockets, and two heating drums for heating the sealing dies and each being positioned inside a respective sealing die, wherein a first heating zone of each heating drum comprises a first plurality of circumferentially distributed infrared heating elements, and a second heating zone of each heating drum comprises a second plurality of circumferentially distributed infrared heating elements.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A CONTAINER FOR THE PREPARATION OF A BEVERAGE IN A BEVERAGE PREPARATION DEVICE AND A CONTAINER OBTAINED BY SAID PROCESS
The present invention concerns a process for producing a container for the preparation of a beverage in a beverage preparation device, comprising the steps of: a. providing a water injection wall (3) of said, b. providing a beverage delivery wall (4) of said container, wherein at least one, preferably both, of said injection and delivery walls (3, 4) has a cup shape, c. placing a beverage M ingredient body in said at least one cup shaped wall (4), d. sealing together edge portions (3A, 4A) of said injection and delivery walls (4, 3) in a sealing station, such as to form a chamber (1), wherein said sealing station comprise a housing element having a housing temperature (Th), wherein said body (2) is shaped and dimensioned such as not to completely fill said chamber (1), said process being characterized in that, after the sealing step, the container is cooled to a cooling temperature (Tc) being either: at least 15 C. lower than the temperature of the housing, or comprised between 10 C. and +25 C.
Coffee Pod for Point of Sale Device
A shell less, biodegradable coffee pod for use with a point of sale coffee pod dispensing device. The pod is compressible for pleated or stacked storage and linearly linked to a series of substantially similar pods by a flexible, hingeable separable tab bridging between adjacent pods. The pods have a support structure that is affixed to a fillable well. Each well is expandable with an expanding means (utilizing a burst of air, a vacuum or mechanical pusher) as the series of pods is mechanically advanced along a tractor feed style conveyor belt that passes the pod to a ground coffee bean filling unit, a sealing unit and a pod separating unit.
