Self-sealing container for protecting air sensitive samples
A self-sealing container, used for transferring one or more air sensitive samples between vacuum systems, includes a housing with a cavity that holds the sample(s), and a lid disposed on top of the housing. The lid is configured to interface with the housing to form a seal over the cavity when the lid is closed. At least two flexure systems, each coupled to the housing and the lid, are disposed on opposing sides of the housing. The flexure systems apply forces to the lid that move the lid horizontally and vertically above the housing, into an open position. A pneumatic actuator, movably coupled to the housing and the lid, that is actuated by a change in ambient pressure. When actuated, it applies forces that move the lid horizontally and vertically to the closed position, in opposition to and in excess of the forces applied by the flexure systems.
Apparatuses and methods for container content preservation
One feature pertains to a device that includes a main body having a bottle-receiving end that receives a bottle and forms a substantially airtight seal between the main body and an exterior surface of the bottle surrounding a mouth of the bottle. The bottle-receiving end has a bottom opening to allow for fluid-flow communication between an interior air cavity of the main body and a headspace of the bottle. The device further includes a stopper securement device, and a vacuum pump that evacuates air out of the interior air cavity and the headspace to create a vacuum or partial vacuum within the headspace. The device also includes a means for inserting the stopper into the mouth of the bottle using the stopper securement device after the vacuum pump evacuates air out of the interior cavity and the headspace.
CLOSURE DEVICE FOR ADDING GAS TO AND CLOSING CONTAINERS THAT HAVE A FILLER OPENING
The invention relates to a closing device for closing containers which have a filling opening, such as bottles or cans, comprising a positioning apparatus for arrangement of a container to be closed into a position for closing, a flushing apparatus with a nozzle device for blowing in flushing gas, in particular inert gas, into a container to be closed though its filling opening prior to closure, a closing element setting apparatus for attachment of a closing element to a container to be closed in a position which closes its filling opening and thus the container and a control apparatus.
Apparatus and method for manufacturing filled containers
An apparatus for manufacturing filled containers includes a transport unit that is suitable and designed for transporting containers that are filled with a liquid and are closed with a closure cap. The apparatus includes a penetration unit that is suitable and designed for generating an opening in at least an area of the closure cap and/or of the container, and an application unit that applies a flowable and in particular gaseous medium onto an internal space of the container through this opening (or feeds gaseous medium into this intern space). Further the apparatus includes a closing unit that re-closes the opening.
MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FILLED CONTAINERS
A device for producing filled containers has a transport device which is configured for transporting containers which are filled with a liquid and are closed by a closure. Furthermore, the apparatus has a penetration device which is configured for producing an opening in at least one region of the closure and/or of the container, and an application device, which applies a flowable and in particular gaseous medium to the interior of the container through this opening (or feeds the gaseous medium to this interior). Furthermore apparatus has a closing device which closes the opening again.
Vacuum wine bottle stopper and cap, and method of use
A wine bottle stopper is provided including a vacuum stopper and a removable decorative cap. The vacuum stopper includes a central conduit extends longitudinally through the vacuum stopper, and a one-way valve is located within the central conduit. The vacuum stopper includes an upper portion which extends exterior to the wine bottle and a bottom shaft sized for insertion into a wine bottle's opening. The vacuum stopper also has a release valve connected to the one-way valve. Meanwhile, the decorative cap has a sidewall and a top wall forming a central cavity sized to engage and cover the vacuum stopper's upper portion. The central cavity's top wall has a center recess sized and positioned to receive the vacuum stopper's release button. Preferably, the decorative cap includes a decorative feature providing a pleasing appearance.
Method for controlled container headspace adjustment
A sealing and pressure dosing apparatus, and container filling method, including a capping machine (102) which receives containers (1). Closures (80) are applied to the containers (1) immediately following the raising of pressure within the containers (1) by a pressure dosing system in a pressure sealing chamber (84). Preferably a cooling system is integrated with the capping machine.
Device for Vacuum and Vent Tube Stoppering a Medical Container
The present invention relates to a device for vacuum and vent tube stoppering a medical container. The device includes a main body defining an internal volume that has a first variable pressure chamber configured to be connected to a vacuum pump, the main body being configured to receive the proximal end of a medical container so that said medical container is in communication with the first variable pressure chamber. A vent device including a vent tube is moveable inside the internal volume of the main body along a longitudinal axis between a proximal rest position and a distal operative position. A piston rod is moveable inside the internal volume of the vent tube along the longitudinal axis between a proximal rest position and a distal operative position. A container holder system is provided in the main body, in communication with the first variable pressure chamber.
FEEDING DEVICE FOR SEALER
A feeding device for gassing a container and a lid in a gassing area during feeding to a sealer includes a container feeder for feeding the container through the gassing area along a first feed path, and a lid feeder arranged on the container feeder such that a lid can he moved through the gassing area along a second feed path to the container and can be placed on the container at one end of the gassing area, and a gassing device arranged stationary at the gassing area for gassing the container and the lid in the gassing area.
ENZYMATIC LIGATION OF NUCLEIC ACIDS
Methods, assays, compositions and kits for the ligation of short polynucleotides are presented herein. The short polynucleotides are optionally no more than 7 nucleotides in length, and can be as short as 3 or 4 nucleotides in length. The ligation is optionally performed by CV ligase.
