The stimulator comprises a voltage measurement module for measuring the level of charge of the capacitor equivalent, and the processor is configured for keeping the stimulator ready to discharge by repeatedly measuring the level of charge and by providing a maintenance charging when the voltage over said capacitance equivalent is at or below a predetermined second voltage level.

MOVEMENT TRAINING APPARATUS

An apparatus for movement training, and more specifically, an apparatus for movement and function training of the hand and arm and particularly for use in rehabilitation of the hand following a stroke or other neurological or physical impairments. The invention extends to a corresponding system, method, and kit of parts.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR REDUCING HEAD OR NECK TRAUMA

A system for reducing trauma in the head or neck of a living being caused by acceleration of the head relative to a torso of the living being within a range of motion. The system includes a support engaging at least one of the head, neck, and shoulder of the living being without limiting the range of motion of the head or neck relative to the torso; a sensor in electrical communication with the system; a user interface in electrical communication with the sensor; and a damper associated with the support that is configured to mitigate the position, speed or acceleration of the head relative to the torso in response to information received by the sensor or user interface.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR EXERCISING AN ANKLE, FOOT, AND/OR LEG

An exercise device includes a foot support portion pivotably connected to a leg support portion and having a neutral position relative to a pivot axis. The support portion is configured to rotate about the neutral pivot axis in a first direction away from the neutral position and in a second direction away from the neutral position. The second direction is opposite the first direction. The exercise device also includes a resistance mechanism configured to exert a force on the foot support portion about the pivot axis opposite to the respective first and second directions of rotation of the foot support portion about the pivot axis.

SYNCHRONIZING OUTPUT FROM A FITNESS APPARATUS WITH MEDIA CONTENT
20200406119 · 2020-12-31 ·

Fitness apparatus output can be synchronized with media content that features an instructor conducting a workout session. An instructor conducts a workout session while using a recording device to generate media data, and while a computing device executes a client application to generate command data for controlling aspects of output provided by a fitness apparatus. The media data and the command data generated by the instructor can be transmitted to user computing devices over a network. Users may consume the media data on-demand, or as a live stream while the instructor is conducting the workout session. Operations specified in the command data are driven by the timestamps in the media data to synchronize the output provided by a user's fitness apparatus with the visible cues and/or audible cues of the instructor in the media content. The intensity level of the fitness apparatus output may also be customized to the user.

AUTOMATED CUSTOMIZATION OF OUTPUT INTENSITY FROM A FITNESS APPARATUS
20200406101 · 2020-12-31 · ·

An intensity of fitness apparatus output can be customized for a user during a workout session. A user profile of the user may be accessed to determine a starting intensity value at which output is to be provided by the user's fitness apparatus. Based on this starting intensity value and on command data associated with a workout session, an intensity profile for the user may be determined (e.g., created), which is usable for controlling an intensity of the output of the fitness apparatus during the workout session. While media content featuring an instructor conducting the workout session is output on an output device, the user's device may send commands to the fitness apparatus to control the intensity of the output of the fitness apparatus in accordance with the starting intensity value and, subsequently, the intensity profile of the user.

PRODUCTION OF MEDIA CONTENT AND COMMAND DATA FOR A WORKOUT SESSION

A production environment enables the creation of media content featuring an instructor conducting a workout session, as well as the creation of command data for controlling output from a fitness apparatus. An instructor conducts a workout session while using a recording device to generate media data. Meanwhile, a computing device executes a client application to generate command data for controlling aspects of output provided by a fitness apparatus. The media data and the command data generated by the instructor can be transmitted to user computing devices over a network for consumption by users. The media data and the command data may be transmitted as a live stream while the instructor is conducting the workout session, or to be accessed on-demand by users at a later time.

An upper body support assembly for use with an associated railed device having first and second rails is disclosed. The assembly includes first and second upper body supports capable of moving along the first and second rails, respectively. The upper body supports have at least one of: (i) first and second forearm supports, (ii) first and second hand grips, or (iii) a first forearm support and a first hand grip. An interconnecting member extends between and selectively connects both the first and second upper body supports to permit (i) interrelated movement therebetween when connected, and (ii) independent movement therebetween when disconnected. The assembly can achieve two point gait, three point gait, and four point gait movement.

Apparatus, system, and method for reducing head or neck trauma

Apparatus, systems, and methods are provided for the reduction of head or neck trauma in a living being by mitigating the acceleration experienced by the head, relative to the torso, during a change in motion; for example, creating a neck support that provides improved extension, compression, rotation, and bending properties to the neck in order to control the acceleration experienced by the head. The apparatus can be configured to create a neck support in which acceleration of the head, relative to the torso, is reduced with minimal structure, discomfort, and other potential downsides to the user of the apparatus.

Compression device

A compression device for applying controllable compression to a portion of the anatomy of a user, includes a body, at least one memory wire embedded in the body and configured to contract in length upon application of a current so as to reduce an effective length of the body and apply a compressive force to the portion of the anatomy of the user, and a controller configured to selectively apply current to the memory wires to contract the memory wires and reduce the effective length of the body. The controller includes a circuit board supported by the body and a microcontroller mounted to the circuit board, the microcontroller programmed to actuate the memory wires according to a compression protocol stored in a memory associated with the microcontroller. Each memory wire has a first end fixedly connected to the circuit board and a second end fixed relative to the body.
