Apparatus and method for filling and sealing pouches

An adjustable pouch machine comprises a vertical sealer module forms transverse seals between two plies of a pouch web to partially define a plurality of pouches. Rollers selectively tension and relax the web on the vertically oriented wheel, allowing them to drop away from heated lands on emergency and cycle stops. A filler wheel has a plurality of adjustable gripper units mounted directly thereon for transporting independent separate pouches cut from the pouch web. An adjustable knife is selectively provided with changeable knife hub sets to handle a variety of pouch sizes where a filler wheel alternately first fills and seals pouches in a train. Gear linkage accommodates variation in distance between hubs of different sets. Various embodiments, apparatus and methods are described.

The device (D) for transferring pharmaceutical articles from a counter to inside containers (C), continuously advancing along an advancement direction (V), comprises a first series of tubular elements (T1) and a second series of tubular elements (T2) having dimensions such as to be able to freely receive the pharmaceutical articles internally thereof. The first series of tubular elements (T1) and the second series of tubular elements (T2) are movable independently of one another along respective pathways that each exhibit a development such that each of the tubular elements (T1) of the first series and each of the tubular elements (T2) of the second series can transit below and at the outlet (U) of the counter (MC) such as to receive the counted articles, and further can transit above the mouth of a respective container (C) advancing continuously along the advancement direction (V) and follow the advancement of the container (C) while remaining above the relative mouth for a straight tract (V1) along the direction (V), so as to release the articles internally thereof.

Automated packaging methods

An automated method for forming a packaged good article includes establishing a continuous path of travel for a mandrel. The mandrel defines an open interior between a package side and a loading side. With the mandrel at a first angle, a packaging material is wrapped about the mandrel at a first station along the path of travel to define a partial package. Product is dispensed into the partial package at a second station. With the mandrel at the second angle, the partial package and the mandrel are separated from one another at a third station. The first angle of the mandrel (at the first station) differs from the second angle of the mandrel (at the third station). The partial package is closed to form a packaged good article. In some embodiments, the mandrel is horizontal at the first station and is vertical at the third station.

A system, method, and device for packaging is disclosed. The system, method, and device includes at least a filler and a conveyor. The conveyor transports containers to a filler. The filler loads product into containers. In our novel system, the filler is driven separately from the conveyor such that, in the absence of containers, the filler stops turning.

ROTATABLE APPARATUSES AND METHODS OF OPERATING THE SAME

A packaging machine includes a rotatable apparatus and an ejection system. The rotatable apparatus rotates a plurality of funnels around a first central rotation axis at a first rate of rotation while a plurality of containers move continuously along an arcuate path while remaining axially aligned with separate, respective bottom openings of the plurality of funnels. The ejection system ejects separate pluralities of material articles from a fixed ejection position at a fixed time interval, and the rotatable apparatus receives the separate pluralities of material articles at a fixed material receiving position. The rotatable apparatus directs a same quantity of material articles into each continuously moving container based on rotating around the first central rotation axis such that each separate funnel moves continuously through the material receiving position concurrently with the rotatable apparatus receiving at least one plurality of material articles at the fixed material receiving position.
