Foreign body detection in a combination weigher

An assembly for detection of foreign bodies in a multihead weigher includes an image recorder and a lighting module and an image evaluation module. The multihead weigher includes weighing containers for filling with bulk material, a selection of the bulk material being emptiable into chutes combined in the shape of a funnel upon arrival of a trigger signal. The image recorder records an image series, and the lighting module and the image evaluation module output a signal upon detection of a foreign body in the image series. The image recorder includes one or more cameras for optical capturing of the funnel, the one or more cameras being arranged inside of or above the funnel and being set up to capture one or more sections of an interior surface of the funnel between two horizontal planes.

The drug packaging unit includes a storage portion separately discharging a plurality of units of a drug, a supply portion supplying the drug to a drug packaging member, a detection portion detecting a drug supply error by detecting the drug passing through the supply portion, an adjustment portion adjusting the number of units of drug discharged out of the supply portion, and a driver/controller individually driving the storage portion and the supply portion, thereby putting the drug on standby to be discharged. With this structure, it is possible to reduce a drug packaging time and it is easy to control drug supply.

A packing method and unit to pack articles, includes: moving first seats by a first conveyor and second seats by a second conveyor along first and second paths at first and second moving speeds, respectively; and cyclically transferring an article from a first seat to a second seat in a transfer station. The first seats and second seats each designed to house an article. During normal operation with no rejected articles, the first moving speed is functionally equal to the second moving speed, and the same number of first and second seats pass through the transfer station in a given time interval. Where at least one article is rejected in a first seat, the second moving speed is functionally decreased relative to the first moving speed so that two first seats (one containing the rejected article) passes through the transfer station in the time interval as one second seat.
