SELF-PROPELLED WRAPPING MACHINE
A self-propelled wrapping machine movable on a supporting surface includes a self-propelled carriage provided with a drive wheel for moving the self-propelled wrapping machine and a lifting device having a supporting element provided with an idle auxiliary wheel associated with the carriage and selectively movable between a raised position, where the auxiliary wheel is spaced from a supporting plane, and a lowered position, where the auxiliary wheel abuts the supporting plane and lifts and detaches the drive wheel from the supporting plane. The supporting element is rotatably associated with the carriage to rotate between the raised and lowered positions. The lifting device has a lever rotatably supported by the carriage, connected to the supporting element by a connecting element and movable between a non-operating position and an operating position, where the lever arranges the supporting element respectively in the raised and lowered positions.
Product handling and packaging system
Embodiments of product handling systems facilitate transfer of individual product items from incoming bulk form into dedicated trays for inspection, sorting, selection, and packaging. Inspection may comprise interrogation of product items within a tray by electromagnetic (e.g., optical, hyperspectral) or other (e.g., physical, acoustic, gas sensing, etc.) techniques. Prior to packaging, product items disposed within the tray may be stored in a moveable carousel responsible for controlling environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, illumination, ambient gases, product-to-product interactions, and/or others. Movement of product items from a carousel's transfer station to an outside staging position may be accomplished using robots and/or conveyor belts. Embodiments may allow rapid, low-cost consumer selection of specific individual product items based upon their accompanying metadata (e.g., source, identifier), in combination with the results of inspection (e.g., visual appearance). Embodiments may receive product items pre-packaged in tray format to expedite inspection, sorting, selection, and packaging.

The stretch film dispenser has a roll of stretch film dispensing the stretch film by rotation of the circular ring assembly. The cutting assembly is adapted to cut and hold the stretch film.

WRAPPING MACHINE
A wrapping machine for wrapping material around a load includes a wrapping unit to wrap a portion of the material around the load and a supplying unit to supply the material portion to the wrapping unit. The wrapping unit includes wrapping device to unwind the material portion from the supplying unit and wrap it around the load. The wrapping unit includes a supporting ring, rotating around a wrapping axis and provided with a plurality of wrapping rollers, and an unwinding arm having a first end rotatably fixed to the support ring and a second end supporting at least one unwinding roller to abut and guide the portion of material towards the load during wrapping. The unwinding arm is movable to move the unwinding roller to/from the load during wrapping.

An apparatus associated with a wrapping machine includes at least one unwinding unit for the wrapping machine for wrapping a load with a film, and shuttles that are movable along a path and suitable for receiving and supporting an unwinding unit to be replaced and to be dismantled from the wrapping machine, or a new unwinding unit to be mounted on the wrapping machine. The shuttles operate along a substantially horizontal operating direction to dismantle and receive from the wrapping machine an unwinding unit to be replaced or to transfer and mount on the wrapping machine a new unwinding unit. The apparatus includes a supporting unit fixed to the wrapping machine and arranged to be coupled to, and supported by, the unwinding unit, the unwinding unit including a first coupling device, and the supporting unit including a second coupling device, the first coupling device and the second coupling device being mutually coupled or uncoupled along the operating direction.

A wrapping apparatus includes a frame configured to rotate about a rotation axis and an object mount configured to support an object to be wrapped. The frame supports a first mount and a second mount, both radially spaced from the rotation axis. The first mount supports a first packing material dispenser. The second mount is radially spaced from the rotation axis and circumferentially spaced from the first mount, and the second mount supports a second packing material dispenser.

A control system for a wrapping apparatus may include a packaging material dispenser configured to dispense packaging material for wrapping a load. The control system may also include at least one sensor assembly configured to generate a signal based on instantaneous demand for packaging material at the load. The control system may further include a controller configured to control operation of the packaging material dispenser based at least in part on the signal.
