METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EXTENDING SHELF-LIFE OF MEAT & POULTRY
The current invention covers an improved meat-packaging procedure and machine for packaging meat cuts for long-term storage at temperatures of between 28 and 42 F. The process includes sealing meat cuts or full poultry birds or bird pieces within a master bag containing (i) oxygen scavenger materials capable of reducing the residual oxygen content of the atmosphere within the bag to 0 ppm within 96 hours of sealing, and (ii) a CO2 generator capable to generate CO2 in the amount of at least 100 mL per pound of meat or poultry within 7 days of sealing. Gas is injected into the master bag to form a CO2-rich storage environment of at least 50% CO2. Depending upon the gas-volume and oxygen scavengers design in the master-bag to maintain diffusion, the CO2 generators may not be needed in the master-bag. The over-wrap of the meat or poultry trays, if meat or poultry are packed in trays, can be perforated so that gas exchange occurs within the master bag between the interior and exterior of the meat tray to absorb the residual oxygen inside the meat trays. For meat trays containing meat with poor color stability, oxygen scavengers are preferably placed within the meat trays. For cuts with good color stability, the oxygen scavengers may be placed outside the meat trays. Meat can be stored by this system for up to 10 weeks and up to twelve days of retail display life. Poultry can be stored for 28+ days by this system. Poultry can be treated with PAA or without PAA and can either be air-chilled or water-chilled with or without PAA: in both instances substantial shelf-life extension is obtained. PAA treated poultry tend to show high microbial growth when compared with non-PAA treated poultry.
APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR TAMPING THE CONTENTS OF A CONTAINER
Apparatuses and methods for tamping the contents of a container are disclosed. An embodiment of an apparatus includes a tamp head for tamping the contents of the container; and a container support assembly structured and arranged to temporarily support the bottom surface of the container during tamping, the container support assembly comprising a support element having a protrusion extending upward from a substantially flat and horizontal upper surface, wherein the protrusion is sized and shaped to correspond to the size and shape of the bottom surface of the container.
Beauty and skin care treatment product and method
The beauty or skin-care treatment 100 may be a single use system for providing a manicure or pedicure treatment or other beauty or skin-care service. Each primary packaging 130 that may be provided with the beauty or skin-care treatment 100 may contain a beauty or skin-care product that may be used in providing the treatments. The beauty or skin-care treatment 100 may include multiple primary packages 130 in the form of single-serve packaging 130 provided collectively as a set. The set may be housed in the secondary packaging 110 and packaged together to form a multi-step treatment 100. The beauty or skin-care products contained in the single-serve packaging 130 may be made of ingredients beneficial to the skin and may include products to aid in sanitizing, exfoliating, nourishing, hydrating and moisturizing the skin.
METHOD OF PACKAGING INCLUDING COVERING AN OPENING OF A CHUTE USING A LID
The method includes covering a first opening of at least one first chute using a lid, delivering air from a pressurized air source into the at least one first chute, and advancing at least one first plunger through a first end of the at least one first chute to transfer a product through a second end of the at least one first chute and into a first open side of at least one first box.
Solid state disk packaging line
A solid state disk packaging line, for packaging solid state disks, includes a stacking tray conveying system, a packaging system, a packaging box conveying system, and a packaging box packaging system. The packaging system includes a packaging box loading device, a sealing bag loading device, and a packaging machine. Two sides of the packaging system provided with the packaging machine are connected with the stacking tray conveying system and the packaging box conveying system respectively. The packaging machine receives stacking trays, and loads the stacking trays into a packaging box, and then transfers the packaging box to the packaging box packaging system via the packaging box conveying system. The packaging box with the stacking trays loaded therein is sealed by the packaging box packaging system. The packaging line packages and seals the packaging box without manual work which protects solid state disks, avoids doing damage, and improves production efficiency.
Method and apparatus for automatically packaging and dispensing food products
A food product gathering and dispensing system is disclosed. The food product is generally a flat disc shaped article dispensed onto a consumable strip of food product conveyer material. The food product is fed to single, or series related, spools that wind up the consumable conveyer material and food product into a removable roll. The roll is placed into a dispenser pack, optionally subject to further environmental treatment, and refrigeration. The pack is then installed within a refrigerated dispenser system where the food product and consumable material are collectively unwound and separated, as the food product is fed into a processing system, i.e., a cooking device. The consumable conveyer material is collected and separately discarded.
Article Transfer Apparatus
An article transfer apparatus includes a holding portion, a driving portion that moves the holding portion, a control unit, and a reference detection portion that detects a reference position of a target article held by the holding portion. The control unit performs reference detection control to detect, by the reference detection portion, the reference position in a state in which the target article is lifted, determination control to determine a positional relationship between the holding portion and the reference position based on a result of detection by the reference detection control, and position calculation control to calculate, based on the positional relationship determined by the determination control, a movement destination position that is a position, of the holding portion at the movement destination, at which an outer edge of the target article held by the holding portion fits within a movement region.
FLEXIBLE PACKAGES WITH SELF-FOLDING
Packages made from flexible material, wherein the packages include one or more self-folds formed by applying activation energy to the flexible material.
LID FORMING DEVICE
A lid forming device of a cardboard box using a first flap with a slit and a second flap to be extended after being bent into a mountain shape is disclosed. The lid forming device includes first and second folding mechanisms. The fist folding mechanism folds the first flap in a direction of closing the opening. The second folding mechanism bends the second flap into a mountain shape and inserts part of the second flap into the slit of the first flap while extending the second flap. The second folding mechanism includes first and second retaining units. The first retaining unit retains a first face of the second flap located between a free end of the second flap and a bend line set beforehand in the second flap. The second retaining unit retains a second face of the second flap located between an anchored end and the bend line.
Flexible packaging having a lid fitment and method for making the same
A flexible package assembly can include a flexible package formed from a flexible material and a lid fitment attached to the package at the opening wall. The flexible package can include a plurality of walls that cooperate to define an interior volume of the package, including first and second opposed side walls and an opening wall. The first and second opposed side walls include first and second tucks, respectively, adjacent to opening wall. The lid fitment can include a base attached to the opening wall and surrounding the opening, first and second projections extending downwardly from opposed sides of the base; and a lid having a complementary shape to a shape of the base. The base is attached to the opening wall such that the first projection extends at least partially into the first tuck and the second projection extends at least partially into the second tuck.
