DETERMINING READINESS FOR AN OPERATIONAL TASK
Examples are disclosed that relate to methods, computing devices, and systems for determining a user's readiness for an operational task. One example provides a method comprising, during a training phase, receiving training input data including, for each user training session, a training data pair including, as input, a distance of travel, a mode of travel, and one or more environmental conditions, and as ground truth output, a time elapsed for performance of the training task. An artificial intelligence (AI) performance model is trained to model user performance of the training task based on the training data pairs. During a run-time phase, operational input data is received that is associated with an operational task performed by the user. The performance model is used to infer a predicted time elapsed for performance of the operational task.
Method for determining running phases of a user on a treadmill and treadmill implementing such method
A method determines running phases of a user on a treadmill having first and second rotating elements rotating about respective rotational axes transverse to a longitudinal axis of the treadmill. A physical exercise surface connects to the rotating elements. An electric motor operatively associated with one rotating element rotates the rotating elements and the physical exercise surface. A processor connects to the electric motor and controls the electric motor. The processor determines a magnitude variable over time, which is correlated to user interaction with the exercise surface while exercising and has a periodic trend. The processor determines time instants of at least two points of the periodic trend. The time instants of each point representing instants of user interaction with the exercise surface. The processor determines a running phase of the user on the exercise surface as a function of the respective time instants of the periodic trend.
Systems and methods for minimally intrusive displays with heart rate monitoring and workouts
A system includes a minimally intrusive display system (MIDS) configured to be disposed on an eyewear. The MIDS includes a display system and a sensor system configured to provide for a sensor data. The MIDS further includes a processor configured to process the sensor data to derive a physiological measure. The processor is further configured to display, via the display system, the physiological measure, wherein the display system is disposed in the eyewear so that the physiological measure is only viewed when a user of the eyewear turns the user's pupil towards the display system at angle α from a forward direction.
BASKETBALL PERFORMANCE MONITORING SYSTEM
A basketball performance monitoring system sensor including at least one sensor proximate a basketball goal having a backboard, a rim coupled to the backboard, and a net having strings coupled to the rim; the at least one sensor configured to determine shot information, the shot information comprising both an impact of a basketball with at least one of the backboard and the rim, and a shot passing through the rim; a local microprocessor coupled to the at least one sensor; a housing containing both the at least one sensor and the local microprocessor; the housing includes geometric features to reduce the likelihood of tangling housing in the net; and the housing having a first end and a second end opposite the first end; wherein the first end of the housing extends outside the net; wherein the second end of housing includes an arm extending inside the net.
Golf Ball Analytic Measurement Device and Method
A system for measuring golf ball trajectory characteristics is disclosed. The system includes artificial grass with a launch location for a golf ball and a plurality of wide-angle distance optical sensors mechanically connected to the artificial grass positioned such that a field of measurement of each wide-angle distance optical sensors intersects. The system also includes a central processing unit connected to the wide-angle distance optical sensors, the central processing unit configured to collect distance measurements from the wide-angle distance optical sensors and to determine a velocity of a trajectory of the golf ball from the launch location to the intersection of the field of measurement of each wide-angle distance optical sensors given a distance between the plurality of the wide-angle distance optical sensors, a distance between the plurality of the wide-angle distance optical sensors and the launch location, and the distance measurements from the plurality of the wide-angle distance optical sensors. Once the velocity of the trajectory of the golf ball is determined, the central processing unit transmits the velocity to a display.
DIGITAL STRENGTH TRAINING
An information related to the position of an actuator coupled to a cable which is coupled to a motor is received. A filter is used to provide an input to a motor controller coupled to the motor, to adjust torque on the motor such that a strength curve is implemented relative to the position of the actuator.
WEARABLE COMPUTER WITH FITNESS MACHINE CONNECTIVITY FOR IMPROVED ACTIVITY MONITORING
A method of generating a calibration factor is described. In an example, the method may include establishing a wireless communication connection with a fitness machine. The method may also include obtaining first machine data from the fitness machine. The first machine data may specify a type of the fitness machine. The method may also include initiating a workout session on the wearable computer based on the first machine data. During the workout session, the method may also include obtaining sensor data, obtaining second machine data, and determining the calibration factor based on the second machine data and the sensor data. The method may also include generating a workout session summary based on the calibration factor.
GOLF CLUB HEADS
Some disclosed golf club heads include body having at least one raised sole portion and a cantilevered ledge extending down around a perimeter of the club head below the level of the raised sole portion. Some disclosed golf club heads include one or more sole openings in the body and a sole insert that is mounted inside the body over the sole openings. The sole can include weight tracks as well, and a rear weight track can extend between a toe side sole opening and a heel side sole opening. A crown insert can also be included that is mounted over an upper opening in the body.
