SINGLE-USE VIALS FOR ADMINISTERING EYE DROPS
20190144174 · 2019-05-16 ·

Single-dose vials for liquid solutions (e.g., liquid medicaments) can be designed to be used in conjunction with a medication regimen. A single-dose vial may include a removable member that prevents a liquid solution from escaping, but also allows an individual (e.g., a patient or a medical professional) to readily administer the liquid solution. A single-dose vial could include one or more discrete capsules that include the same or different liquid solutions. For example, multiple capsules could be arranged within a vial so that different liquid solutions are simultaneously or sequentially ejected following removal of the removable member and application of pressure to the multiple capsules (e.g., due to the individual squeezing the vial). Multiple vials can also be connected to one another in a strip configuration, which allows the individual to more easily adhere to a medication regimen that requires multiple doses over a period of time.

A method for blow-fill-seal (BFS) packaging of a product and a BFS package. The method forms a BFS package with a twist-off top, container body and information panel in a main mold. The container is filled via a fill opening located distal to the twist-off top and the fill opening is sealed with a base portion. This provides a container having a twist-off top that is more reliably secured to the container body. A plurality of containers may be attached to a single information panel. The BFS packaging system may employ a quick change insert to reduce lost production time when changing products or lots. The package includes an information panel integrally formed with a plurality of twist-off tops, each of which is removably attached to a container body whereby each container body can be removed from the package without removing the remaining container bodies from the information panel.

Method of controlling by-products of vitamin C degradation and improving package integrity shelf life

The invention is a method of venting the degradation products of an ascorbic acid containing composition. This prevents a build-up of carbon dioxide and may prolong the life of the packaging. The packaging includes an impermeable container and a semi-permeable top, which allows carbon dioxide to vent over time. When the composition includes water, the surface area of semi-permeable material contacting the composition is reduced to lessen water vapor loss.

HOLLOW MOLDED ARTICLE HAVING EXCELLENT AQUEOUS LIQUID SLIPPERINESS

A hollow molded container of the present invention has a resin layer forming its inner surface, and droplets of an oily liquid are distributed on the surface of the resin layer. In the hollow molded container, slipperiness to a less flowable liquid is enhanced remarkably and the slipperiness is exhibited for a long period of time.

Improved Dosing System

The present invention refers to an improved dispensing system for liquid dispensing in the form of drops, comprising: a cap; a dosage unit having a skirt showing a protrusion or edge at its lower end; and a container having a shoulder surface located at the inner part of the shoulder, wherein the shoulder surface holds the dosage unit through interfering with said protrusion or edge of the insert thus avoiding that the dosage unit can be removed from the container. While opening the improved dispensing system according to the present invention, a ring attached to the cap body breaks in sections, preventing said ring to be relocated in the cap and, thus, avoiding that the dosage unit can be reused for filling a different substance.
