Device for preventing paint from drying in the can

A device for preventing paint from drying in a cylindrical paint can, wherein the paint can has a wall with an internal diameter D.sub.I and an upper portal into the paint can, the upper portal having a diameter smaller than D.sub.I. The device consists of a circular planar base disc; and a slanted lip wall extending upwardly from said planar base disc. The lip wall forms a frustum of a cone having a central angle α. The slanted lip wall has a first, upper diameter D.sub.B at an upper lip edge of the lip wall, a second, lower diameter D.sub.C at a connection of the slanted lip wall to the planar base disc, and a third diameter D.sub.M disposed between the upper diameter and the lower diameter, wherein D.sub.M is substantially equal to D.sub.I, and wherein D.sub.B>D.sub.M>D.sub.C and D.sub.B>D.sub.I>D.sub.C. When the device is installed over the paint residue in the paint can, the upper lip edge of the lip wall is deformed so that D.sub.B is substantially equal to D.sub.I.

CONTAINER ASSEMBLIES WITH PAPER-BASED END CLOSURES
20220063895 · 2022-03-03 ·

The present disclosure is directed to recyclable, composite container assemblies with improved characteristics resulting from a combination of raw materials, structural design, systems, and methods for sealing a paper-based closure to a paper-based container body. The container assemblies demonstrate superior performance and seal properties, such as very low oxygen transmission rates and high resistance to bulging and/or damage due to high pressure differentials. The disclosed container assemblies, manufactured at high speeds, have been optimized by increasing the shelf-life of food products stored therein, while minimizing any non-paper materials such that the container assemblies qualify as recyclable mono-material.

STORAGE CONTAINER WITH SPOUT

A storage container with a spout is provided that can store a coating material. The storage container can include a container body having a shape, which may be a circular shape, polygonal shape, or a rounded-polygonal shape. The container body includes a side wall having first and second ends. The storage container with a spout can include a first opening with a corresponding lid and the spout providing a second opening with a corresponding cap. The storage container can further include a handle formed with an aperture through a side of the container body.

A substantially paper-based composite container for an off-gassing product includes a paperboard can body having a substantially gas-impervious liner attached to an inner surface thereof, and a pair of substantially paper-based end closures attached to the opposite ends of the can body, each end closure defining a generally cylindrical sealing panel in contact with an inner surface of the can body. Heat-sealable materials are disposed on opposing surfaces of the sealing panel and can body. The sealing panels of the end closures are attached to the can body by heat seals. The heat seal for at least one of the end closures is discontinuous such that at least one vent channel extends through the heat seal so as to establish fluid communication between an interior of the composite container and the environment outside the composite container. The at least one vent channel is operable to vent excess gas pressure from the interior of the container.
